Not much Sarkic could do about that. However, now someone has scored, this game seems over. Would like to see a replay, felt like his feet movement was poor and he got down slowly.

I think it's more likely than not. He just needs to find the right home.... Yes but he's not going to to take a 75% pay cut he may have to take an even bigger pay cut, depending upon his fitness levels. His legs on that interview look like tree trunks!

Listening to that, it sounds like for the first time in ages someone actually has a plan and is looking forward. If we can stay up, next season is the first one since relegation where I could feel positive. All of the recent seasons were pre determined before they started and you could see season after season written off before we’d even finished the one we were in. Fingers crossed for something special for 2023/2024. To be fair to MON, he laid the foundations to allow us to have a good coming summer. He had mentioned that was when the FFP tide would turn. We will have very few players on our books, fewer with fees to amortise. We should really look to sign players with no fee or lower ones like £1m-£3m.

Comes across bright, grounded, level headed and in control of his emotions. Fingers crossed he can get fit then stay that way.

Chris Martin was released by Bristol City yesterday. He’s well past it now put could probably do a job for us until the end of the season. he is well past it. after being released he has signed for Gillingham.

is it? Its a spinnable loan. He's out of contract, we can see if we like him and vice versa, sign him up in the summer if it works. Similar to Sterling in that sense. We're an injury away from having Fox at CB in a back 4 though. It's a big gamble. Agreed. Its not an ideal signing at all, but it's one the media can spin seeing as we sold Souttar in the dying seconds of the window without time to sign players permanently.

Bit weird in the sense this is exactly the type of loan Neil said he would avoid? is it? Its a spinnable loan. He's out of contract, we can see if we like him and vice versa, sign him up in the summer if it works. Similar to Sterling in that sense.

If we don’t replace souttar we could be in deep shit position wise corn the end of the season Has Souttar gone? I presume not if it's to late for us to sign anyone. it'll be interesting to see how this is managed if we don't sign anyone and he goes

I’d prefer the lad from Peterborough If Taylor is injured we’ve lost 3 centre backs mate ….people are forgetting this I’d prefer them both not one of them We could benefit from both, they are different types of defenders. Cresswell is slower, but decent in the air. Edwards isn't too good in the air, but wins alot of tackles.

Not sure thats that accurate, he's a good defender and his stats scores well defensively, he's just not as good progressing the ball as others. If we get him for a low fee it could be money very well spent, especially for Taylor to learn from. If only we had an experienced former England international that could do that ☺️ Whilst he's good in other areas, the present day Jagielka is statistically poor in the air and the tackle, so possibly not the best to learn from. Unless they show videos of him from 10 years ago.

Anyone saying that Cook would be a good replacement clearly hasn’t seen him play recently! He’s well past it Steve “last ditch tackle” Cook……. Not sure thats that accurate, he's a good defender and his stats scores well defensively, he's just not as good progressing the ball as others. If we sell Sottar, why can't we have Ronnie Edwards and Steve Cook We would have lost Soutts, Flint and possibly Taylor for the season, plus Jags and Fox out of contract in June. Makes sense to get them both It would make sense to sign them both as they are different types of defenders. Edwards looks to be a better version of Wilmot. Cook is not as good as Souttar in the air, but hes pretty good at tackling dribblers, so would be a very good short term replacement.

Steve Cook is a decent championship centre half and some of the reactions on here are pathetic Good player, potentially not a forward thinking signing, so hopefully low value.

If Souttar is sold and we buy Ronnie Edwards with part of the money we would still need a centre back who can win headers. Ronnie Edwards looks like a much better version of Wilmott. Like to make progressive passes, but he's better on the ball, very good at stopping people dribbling past him, but poor in the air. Perhaps Taylor and Edwards are being viewed as the next centre back partnership? We lack height all of a sudden. Sounds like a L/RCB which compiments Wilmot then you need someone commanding in the air in the centre but as things stand even when we have a commanding CB available he plays Jagielka in the centre more often than not. Yeah if we continue with 3 at the back then Edwards and Wilmot (on a better run) either side of a monster centre back could work well. Neil says he wants wingers so I'm not sure if he wants 3-4-3 or 4-3-3. My initial thought was the latter.

Brereton Diaz signs pre contract agreement with Villarreal. Not sure why Talksport think it’s a surprise? He’s been linked with moves to Spain for a couple of years now. His profile is big too especially in South America and he plays for a Spanish speaking nation. It makes lots of sense. My understanding is their wont be any compensation on the transfer either.

Sorry your last one was Forrester tbh 😂( who I liked and hated he went the fail ) Fair and we shouldn’t have let him go. Wilmot is regressing terribly. Not sure whether Forrester would be the answer for us right now, but Wilmot is looking a bit useless. The data comparing him to championship centre backs confirms how it feels * He wins 48.5% of aerial duels, putting him firmly in the bottom tenth * Attackers dribble past him over 40% of the time, which is nearly bottom 3rd territory. * He is a very aggressive passer, in the top 5%, but as a result his passing accuracy is low, comfortably in the bottom fifth.

Faded out of the game early in the 1st half. He's a good technical player but he didnt really impact the game, he was largely anonymous. The goal from the corner was lucky not to have been taken by the first man if not for Wilmot getting a good flick on. He's got the quality but he didnt impact the game anywhere near as much as is being made out right now, especially when considering thats against a League 2 team. Still look forward to what he can bring to the team though.

Hoever playing poorly so far, look forward to see if he can get to be anywhere near as good as Sterling, who we should be signing if he can stay injury free. I think he sucks. He definitely doesn't sweep up at the back, but you'd like to think he could do a better job of cleaning up back there than he's shown so far.

Flipping eck Celina is quality feels like we've got Shaq back considering we are only one up, due to a poorly defended corner, where very little has been created from open play, do you not think its a bit premature to say that?

That's bad luck for Taylor and looks a problem. Surely Souttar can't go now. Just need to get another cb in if Souttar goes, potentially on loan.
