Has anyone given a thought to the fact that all the worlds top players will be absent from their respective top clubs for a month and the effect it may have on the sucess of their clubs title hopes and cup final chances?

Martin O'Neill was sacked by Sunderland on 30 March 2013 following a 1–0 defeat by Manchester United which left the team one point above the Premier League relegation zone with seven games left to play in the season. Sunderland had failed to secure victory in the eight matches leading up to O'Neill's departure, winning only three points out of a possible 24 during that spell.[56][57][58]

The problem in my opinion is tthreefold. 1) Hughes is clueless and cannot manage efficiently 2) the players have got no fight in the, no heart and are certainly not playing as a team or motivated. 3) the owners need to invest big time and then recoup what they spend long term. Until those 3 things are addressed sad but true we are doomed to the championship and maybe league 1 the following season. This has not been an overnight thing its been on the cards for a long time but the management cannot make a decision. Always leave things too late in the transfer windows.

Hughes hasn't got a hucking clue! Why do we just defend so deep once we take the lead? We are far better going forward and to be honest Soton were not dangerouse in my opinion? All it dfoes is bring pressure onto us by defending so deep. We should have pressed harder and closed them down instead of inviting them to attack us!

Re: Southampton vs West Ham United match thread
Postby SS12 on Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:54 pm This was always going to be a tough start. Had Arnie stuck his chance in it would have been a different game. That's football.
Arnie needs his contract ripped up, what an idiot. I hope Noble batters him at HT.
People on Bilic's back need to take a breath and look at the facts. Reid just before KO, an early goal compounded by Arnie being a twat and then Ogbonna losing his head. Not a lot Bilic can do about that is there.
2 years time we will have another manager in charge (I hope not) and the same issues will be there - until they are gone we can't move forward.

asukru asukru Well-Known Member Arsehole fan Excited for this one as I hate Stoke! Really hoping this is the season they get relegated The team pretty much picks itself here, hoping Lacazette can score and keep the momentum going that way him and Alexis can rock Liverpool the following week! asukru, Monday at 8:40 PM #13

are you seriously suggesting that Jack Butland is not up to his job? I reckon a 2-2 draw after them being 1-0 up at half time.

Welcome to the Premiership Huddersfield and Deano. I'd say pretty much guaranteed 6 points next season as both teams today were not Premiership quality

Manure looked very tired in their game against Spurs and I reckon we'll take the 3 points if we close them down at every opportunity and don't give away an early goal.

I am a UK ex-pat in Spain and my wife who is Spanish would pronounce his name as Bo Jan. Yes its true that the Catalans pronounce Jan as Yan as in "Boy An" but as his name is as previously mentioned Serb origin it is probably going to be pronounce as Bo Jan.
I reckon we should ask him direct how is name is pronounced in his "Mother" tongue to be respectful and grateful for his brilliance in last Saturdays game and service to us MIGHTY POTTERS?

I quote my mate who is an ardent Citeh fan. He answered this when I asked him if he rates the lad............
"He's a brilliant whizz kid striker and should be a shrewd investment for sparky"
For me he has to either start or at least get the last half hour on the pitch?
