It's not a Spanish name, think it's Croatia name, so you need to ask the croatian stokies

I think you are probably right but I expect there are some differences in pronunciation in the two countries just as we have differences in pronunciation of some words across British regions. As his dad is Serbian safest to ask a Serb how they would pronounce his name, I would think. Would you ask a Welsh person how to pronounce a Scottish name such as Menzies?

I understand it is actually pronounced Boy an. Yes, Huddy and Bojan are very different physically (Huddy much bigger) but with about the same levels of skill. Bojan could prove to be better because he appears to be able to so most of what Huddy can do plus he has much more of a scoring threat than Huddy ever had. Just imagine "a Huddy with goals" - I need to lie down in a darkened room at the thought of it.

I am a UK ex-pat in Spain and my wife who is Spanish would pronounce his name as Bo Jan. Yes its true that the Catalans pronounce Jan as Yan as in "Boy An" but as his name is as previously mentioned Serb origin it is probably going to be pronounce as Bo Jan.
I reckon we should ask him direct how is name is pronounced in his "Mother" tongue to be respectful and grateful for his brilliance in last Saturdays game and service to us MIGHTY POTTERS?

My Spanish mate tells that in Spain they pronounce it Bo-Jan, pronouncing the Jan as in January. So not as it would be pronounced in Spanish phonetics.
However, he also says that this is probably incorrect too.
Didn't we have a thread on this months ago when he signed where someone actually posted a link which sounded out the name?
I thought it was Boy-an myself.

Im spanish but I can't help you since bojan is a serbian name I think. anyway in spain must of us say BoJan You're right. Bojan (Slovenian: Bojan; Serbian Cyrillic and Macedonian: ?????; Russian and Bulgarian Cyrillic: ????, transcribed Boyan) is a Slavic given name, derived from the Slavic noun boj "battle." The ending -an is a suffix frequently found in anthroponyms of Slavic origin. Basically, it's a Slavic name spoken in Catalan as it's his first and nickname like in portuguese. His name is a old break-off of Celtic brian from the Cyrillic alphabet. Boj = battle 'an = possesion... Battle' er' "A Serbian name meaning warrior. One that has the balls of Rocky Balboa, yet a heart like Romeo. In other words, a man that doesn't give up." I met him at Barca B years ago during a holiday, went to the nou's open training day and asked him, he told me Bo'Jan then.

What really annoys me is that on Radio Stoke three reporters all pronounce his name differently when they are discussing him. Drives me crazy come on Radio Stoke lets have some clarity!
