Despite the fact it shouldnβt be there, it shouldnβt be in December, the questionable rights issue of just building the stadiums I imagine it will be a good tournament.
Fifa will do anything to ensure itβs success hides all the issues listed above

Fifa will do anything to ensure itβs success hides all the issues listed above The 1936 Hitler Olympics in Berlin are widely considered the best hosted Olympics ever. I think you're right in that it will be hosted very well even though it's a fucking disgrace and literal human tragedy that they're being held there.

Say what you want, but it doesn't sit right with me having the World Cup in a country that openly supports both Al-Qaeda (by way of al-Nusra Front) and ISIL. You know it's dodgy when the World's terrorist in chief (Saudi Arabia) calls you out on it and cuts all diplomatic ties. Then again, and I might come across as being slightly cynical here, Qatar does play host to the largest US airbase in the Middle-East, so perhaps they get a free pass when it comes to supporting terrorists, just like Saudi Arabia does.
And all that is before you even get to the question of the slave labour, forced internment of foreign workers and the deaths of hundreds of the aforementioned slaves.

Has anyone given a thought to the fact that all the worlds top players will be absent from their respective top clubs for a month and the effect it may have on the sucess of their clubs title hopes and cup final chances?

I like Tunisia but it is too small too for an event like this Europe is the best for such events According to Google, England is smaller than Tunisia. I only said Tunisia because having visited there in the 80's while in the Navy, I can honestly say I can not think of a worse place I've ever been. Turkey would be okay, Antalya is beautiful.

I don't see the point of a country hosting it that has no recognisable football team. Russia gave it a good go, albeit they have a good football history. Qatar on the other hand wi fall at the first hurdle. It will be an odd and expensive tournament to visit.

We'll, my visit was in the 80's, so I can only imagine many things have changed given the current climate. But, you know...it is still possible to enjoy things without imbibing.

They will probably try to bribe their way out of the group stage too. Also, they can recruit mercenaries from other countries and give them Qatari citizenship and a fat wad of cash.

In Africa, South Africa, Egypt and Morocco have better infra-structure, stadiums ... etc than any other African countries, mostly Nigeria is better than Tunisia too. If they have to move it to an Arabic country (not Europe) i will choose United Arab Emirates it will be much better than Qatar.

It won't have any effect as the top leagues will be suspended for about 6 weeks while the World Cup is taking place. It will probably mean that the season won't end until well into June.

Can't happen once a player has chosen or played so many team games thats it. I cant imagine many players wanting to be a pariah in own country either.

My bestie has lived in Qatar for the last 5 years, fantastic lifestyle.
I've lined my digs up for the world cup and as she says they will ensure that the world cup will be amazing just because there is so much money they daren't let it fail.
