Other than Vidigal and Travers none of the new players have improved this team. Lose this and a couple more and it’ll turn toxic again. All this gelling rubbish. The tactics are woeful, no clue in the final third for 12 months still. It’s just an ongoing disaster.

We’ve definitely got some good players now but the manager doesn’t seem to have a clue how to use them!!

We had some great away performances last year.
This year, 3 games, looking like 3 defeats and 0 goals.
You have to question AN.

Last year it was ‘just wait until he gets his own players’, he doesn’t have long now, he’s just brought in 17 of his own. To tell you the truth I think he’s a tinkerman who thinks he’s smarter than he is. What we need is to go back to basics, pick a formula and a way of playing, get that across to the players clearly, and stick to it. Stop tweaking it every game because we are worried about the opposition.

A few got off to fliers but they’ve all now sunk into the mediocre range (Vidigal excepted ) I'm not sure we have the players either tbh but that's also on the manager. Some of these players will need time. I thought Bae looked miles off it today. Burger looked ok but they need to learn to move the ball quicker, they get caught off the ball too easily. I'm not convinced by Johnson, looks a bit of a headless chicken as well, busy but all over the place.

Still no identity. Most of the teams that we lose to play a simple game with a ridgid set up. That's why we keep getting mugged.

A PNE supporter once told me that ‘the bloke never knew what his best team was ...... and he only had about 14 to choose from’ . I fear this is only going to get worse before it gets better.

AN and the players are playing like it's Euro League or CL match when it's the g'damn championship, 442 or 4231. The simple things and basics are doing us in.

Good players? Time to settle in? If you're a good player do you really need time to settle in before you can control a football or pass it inside the fucking touch line?

5 times in each half (at least) we passed the ball out for a throw!

Good players? Time to settle in? If you're a good player do you really need time to settle in before you can control a football or pass it inside the fucking touch line? Yes and no. No if it's the odd player you sign coming into a settled squad. Potentially yes when you are 1 of 17 new signings coming into a squad with absolutely no foundations. You'd be surprised what that does to players.

Good players? Time to settle in? If you're a good player do you really need time to settle in before you can control a football or pass it inside the fucking touch line? ... although some may be struggling with the pace of the game. When I came out of 'retirement' I struggled to control the most straightforward of passes. Seen it happen to pros too. Steve McMahon was made to look very average by fat expats in Bangkok when he played... purely because he was unfit. The fat expats were used to playing football in their naturally fat state. Steve McMahon was not and he became increasingly frustrated.

5 times in each half (at least) we passed the ball out for a throw! Think it was more than that first half Second half don't remember them doing it, passing was much better The entire side clearly were not switched on first half until told 20+ minutes in which after a similar scenario at Millwall is simply unacceptable Forget formations, personnel, whether intent is to attack, press, sit back or whatever if team is not switched on they will generally get beat

I don’t think 5 games is particularly fair to judge on. We can’t plead for patience and then decide it’s wank! We need to find something for sure and there needs to be signs of a preferred side but once again we are hampered by injuries only 5 games in. It’d look utterly ridiculous if we allowed the rebuild we have and then got rid. We just won’t. All 3 away games have been tough ones, and we’ve lost against Preston at home. It’s not a disaster, but we need to pick up points this week.

It isn’t worse than last season at all. It’s exactly what everybody should have expected. We’ve signed a load of unknown players , some are good , some aren’t. I believe we will come good.

I think performances have generally been better. Results just aren’t there.
I’m sure it will pick up and we will be up there in playoff contention.
He needs to be braver with his team selection. Campbell and arguably laurent should not be playing at the minute. And he needs to playing an attacking midfielder and not and interchanging box to box

Most successful Teams have an ever present core of 7-9 players barring injuries suspensions etc. We haven’t had a settled side for many years. It is a complete lottery who will be our first 11. The thing that makes me almost cry is that AN favourites are probably our worst performers Laurent, Campbell and now Wesley. It’s an absolute shit show. Our best scoring proposition is more than likely another sick note. I dont know when this torturous journey will end.

You suggest Wesley is a favourite but I don't think he is a fave, he's getting games due to injury and easing in of Mmaee, once he's back I think Wesley will be back on the bench.

I can't agree with this OP or the critical opinions on the other threads.
We have a host of new players with lots of talent but they are going to take month's of playing together to weld into a team.
It is not the manager's fault players passing is awry, shots are off target.
We are unlucky in coming up against the top teams before the fresh squad is ready to take them on. They have shown they can beat poorer teams.
GI've the players and manager time.

I'm surprised that Neil was so complimentary in his interview.
I was livid, we had a lot of the ball but created absolutely nothing of note. We could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored. The attacking patterns were so predictable.
It was the performance of a spirited but ultimately toothless League One team.
