Fire Dublin. Not getting us a left back, competent keeper or another CB after 2 windows. Put us massively in the shit. Has to go. Dublin scouts for the positions that he’s asked too. He doesn’t decide whether we need a left back or not.

And to be honest if we lose today I would be all for replacing SS. Last roll of the dice

He's Head of Recruitment FFS, and on the panel of people who decide what we need! So what was tricky Dicky’s job as TD then. Thought he was head of recruitment hence why he got sacked. Sounds a very complicated set up……..Schuey tells tricky what he needs he then passes that on to Dublin who then finds the players, gets the nod from tricky and schuey has final say. 'Kinell what kind of mishmash of management is that

What's the general consensus on him then?
I feel like in the main he's unearthed some good players.
I'd still give Mmaee a bit more time, Vidigal looks to have been a poor one despite a promising start initially, then Bae Junho and Burger have both been superb.
Not sure what other signings were down to him? Most of them?

Vidigal while i admit has been poor would be a much better player if we were higher up the league and playing well quite consistently imho.

He's far from the problem at this club and it would be a mistake to get rid IMO.

….. I think generally he has been good. Two gems in Burger and Bae. Some of the rest are okay. We have to remember that his remit was to sign 18 players

Vidigal and Leris is 2 million quid between them though I'll say however, I think players like that could be good squad players for us if we'd got the basics right ie, centre back, goalkeeper, striker

Fucks sake By a mile No transfer fee but huge wages and god knows what signing on fee 1 year deal though which was snart I still quite like him even though zero goals and one paced As with nearly all strikers he needs to play in a pair and really not in England

Not sure what other signings were down to him? Most of them? He was given an impossible task signing so many players and keeping within FFP. We should comfortably make a profit on what we have so on the whole he did a good job under the circumstances. There is a foundation to work from now and his targets can be more focused, we won't have to sign so many players again so his job should be a little easier. We will need 2-3 more windows to see how good he really is. For now he deserves backing

Looking at transfermkt we 7.5 million on jojic, Leris, mmaee. Add another couple of million on for the Wesley deal
It's a false economy isn't it? We should have stuck that on someone currently playing in the league who was in form and would go straight into the team

We should have stuck that on someone currently playing in the league who was in form and would go straight into the team Equally since relegation I would say that every Championship pro we bought in for multiple millions of pounds (let's say £3m+) was essentially bad for us, except maybe at a push McClean and Tommy Smith. It's not actually the easy option to simply cherry pick in-form Championship players and expect them to be good.

I see Jojic didn't even make the starting line up for the u21s last night. That is quite worrying if true. Dropped or just injured? We can afford a few gambles on young players to be honest, so I dont mind the approach. Sounds like Jokic wont make the grade at all.

Which players were his signings compared to those of Neil and Schumacher?
I feel like we may as well just let him select the players from now on.
The managerial choices seem to have been generally cack.

The managerial choices seem to have been generally cack. I’d imagine he’d have had a role in every signing. The whole purpose of having a DoF/TD and a Chief Scout is so the Head Coach can concentrate on coaching and only offer ideas of which positions he could do with adding/upgrading and ask the scouting team to have a look at the odd player he’s noticed during games.

I would imagine that the recruitment team will come up a list of positions and player characteristics they believe will enhance the squad. Some will be known players who may be available on loan or coming to the end of their contracts or the hierarchy will try to purchase as a transfer. He will simply search and flag and report back potential signings against the requirements presented to him

So the likes of Mmaee, Vidigal, Manhoef, Burger and Bae vs. the likes of Pearson, Cundle, Johnson and Ennis.

So the likes of Mmaee, Vidigal, Manhoef, Burger and Bae vs. the likes of Pearson, Cundle, Johnson and Ennis. Thus is where the coach/TD model really crashes up against the manager model. In the former the club has the worry and expense of recruitment which it has to live with for years to come. If the recruitment fails its unfair to blame the coach, one should sack the TD and recruitment team. Managers in my view can't be across a portfolio of available world footballers which is why they always revert to their own favourites and players they've worked with. If allowed to they leave the club with expensive unsaleable assets that nobody wants after they have gone. If we are balls deep on this coach/TD model Schumacher should only have a veto/reject on purchases and not suggest any of his own ideas in my opinion. Our choice of coach should then always match our stable of players and preferred style of football, instead of this incessant rebuild and direction reset with every coaching change.
