People need to calm down a little bit. Player supports a team he doesn't play for, shock.

People need to calm down a little bit. Player supports a team he doesn't play for, shock. That's fair. But it is noteworthy when it's at least feasible he may end up at the top end of this division next season as a free agent and we're set-up to be one of the biggest spenders of the summer. It's probably likely a lower Prem team would take a punt on him, but maybe not guaranteed. It may happen (and it did seem quite firm for a time), but moving to a top 6 Spanish team did seem a bit weird for someone with his limited CV, even if this Chile thing has made him a bit of a novelty

he would be a great signing just what we need and he is out of contract,he is a stoke fan so that must go in our favour, these are the type of players what will sell season tickets,i think we will have a good go of it next season i have no doubt that Alex Neil is the right man to get us up,if we can get Ben Pearson in and and Smallbone, with some of the soutter money we should still have money left over,i think Stirling and Tuanzebe are both out of contract so we might be in for them, things might be heading in the right direction,

Has he signed a pre-contract agreement anywhere? They were saying so on the commentary the other day but no one seems to know for sure Their chief exec has apparently said not - but if there's any truth in a 5-year deal in Spain on the table, you'd think he'd snap their hands off www.thesun.co.uk/sport/21433950/blackburn-brereton-diaz-contract-villarreal/BEN BRERETON-DIAZ has been offered a stunning £30,000-a-week contract for ONE YEAR in a bid to make him stay at Blackburn. The Chile striker, 23, is a free agent in the summer, and has been attracting interest from Villarreal. And he is yet to agree a new deal with the Championship club, who are desperate to keep their leading scorer. Recent reports last month suggested the hitman had signed a pre-contract agreement with the LaLiga giants.
However, Blackburn Rovers chief Greg Broughton confirmed Brereton-Diaz had held talks with Villarreal - but nothing had been agreed yet.The Spanish giants are said to have tabled an attractive five-year contract. And director of football Broughton revealed Brereton-Diaz is considering a deal with the Yellow Submarine. He said: “I don’t think it is as black and white with that. “We know exactly what Ben’s situation is. “We know he has had conversations with Villarreal, he’s been very open with us that he was having those conversations. “We know that they put a very attractive offer on the table but our understanding from both the player and Villarreal is that nothing is signed yet and under UEFA regulations they have to let us know immediately when a contract is signed and our understanding is nothing is committed as yet. “Ben, always been the model professional, has worked hard. “We understand that things might not have gone how he would want on the pitch but we back him to come through this. “For us aswell having Ben here for the last final games is a fantastic bonus to have him in the building.” Brereton-Diaz has 11 goals this season for Rovers, including a late goal against West Brom on Wednesday - that ended a 14-game run without a goal.

Delusion. www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/33524-ben-brereton-diaz/page/297/Quite a few of their fans are far from convinced he's Prem-ready at this stage though. And, let's face it, teams in Spain wouldn't have even heard of him if he hadn't Diaz-ed himself and become Chilean. Do you think he'll start at the top end of La Liga or the Prem? Even so, obviously if he gets a long-term offer on big money, he'll take it.

He'll obviously back himself to make an impression, but got to fear he'd be very fringey at somewhere like Villarreal. He's just gone 14 games without scoring in the Champo! It depends how life-changing the contract is. Throw in the fact he's got a few weeks-old baby and it's maybe not clear cut with his girlfriend maybe needing family around for a few years?

Move them to Spain with you. Villareal would be a fantastic opportunity for him. Mad to turn it down and you know that you’ve got the back up of the Champo should you ever need it.

Possibly but footballers also move them around. The kid isn’t in school and won’t know any different, there’s no better time to move.
