If you take the time to Google him, he was heavily involved in both the development of Jude Bellingham & Nathan Redmond when he was working at Birmingham City.

We need to stop being a graveyard for former players. Too much of this over the years.
I know that will upset those who think if we have Ricardo Fuller etc as manager we'd be challenging for the Champions League.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-alex-neil-sunderland-8035492?123=Alex Neil is being linked with a return to Sunderland to try to poach coach Mike Dodds.
The Mirror claims that Dodds is on a short list of potential replacements. Dodds was moved from head of player development to a first team role at Sunderland while Neil was in charge, having previously helped bring through Jude Bellingham during 12 years in the junior set-up at Birmingham City.
Neil, when asked about bringing in a new coach on Friday, said: “That's something that is ongoing like most things at the club. We'll see where we get to. I'm not sure at the moment, we'll need to wait and see. There are a whole list of things I'd like to do but naturally we've only got so much time and there's only so much manoeuvrability to make sure we get to where we want to get to.”
Delap Sr and Liam Delap were not the only two to make their Stoke exits last week, with club doctor David White also moving on.
It is understand that Steve Corns, who has been opposition analyst for 10 years, is also leaving the club. Blimey, he's even fired the Doctor. Or perhaps the Doctor left of his own volition concluding he is certifiably mad, who knows? Are we to expect an audacious bid to prise away the resident Doctor from the Stadium of Light? We'll end up with Dr Nick of Simpsons fame.

At what point do we call this redundancies and asset stripping?

Talking Fuller and the penchant for ex-players.. there's a spot available for a striker now Delap has gone.

At what point do we call this redundancies and asset stripping? Maybe when assets have actually been striped. Chief executive gone, no replacement Club doctor gone, not replaced First team coach gone, no replacement and a very vague ‘I don’t know answer’ from the manager about a replacement Contracted players allowed to leave and replaced by loans How many contracted players do we actually have?

So Ricky Martin was the one who told Rory he was surplus to requirements, Alex was doing most of the coaching up until the new lad has come in and Rory had become a bit of a spare part apparently. Very popular with the lads as I’m sure most of us can imagine and it’s not gone down well.

Very popular with the lads as I’m sure most of us can imagine and it’s not gone down well. Comes as no surprise. Clearly well liked as a player. Have not heard an interview from a former teammate where they haven't said "nobody appreciated what a good footballer Delap was, he's always remembered for his throws, but he was way more than that." No reason to think he wouldn't bring that into his coaching career. Out of nowhere he is oddly axed and his wonderkid son then fucks off to Preston. Someone's dropped a huge bollock here. AN is, as we all knew, a disastrous appointment.

Rumours are that Delap Snr and other back room staff had a major fallout with the manager during their trip to Dubai. AN didn’t want anyone leaving the hotel at night to go drinking. Apparently the kit man told him no one was telling him what he could/couldn’t do in his own time and went out drinking. Delap Snr followed him also. On their return to training, at Clayton Woods, some of the players and Delap Snr. thought that AN was conducting the sessions like a Regimental Sargent Major which caused unrest in the dressing room. Delap and AN didn’t see eye to eye on training methods. AN obviously didn’t believe Delap could be trusted to carry out his wishes and that they could no longer work together. Liam Delap requested that Man City recall him from loan following the fallout.

There was very little detail come out of the Dubai trip suggesting things were locked down with regards to daily activities & goings on.. Usually there's pics of training and coverage of matches being played, but there was definitely a news blackout regarding the trip away. Popping out for a beer in Dubai probably isn't no easy task either, nevermind having to escape the team hotel first!

Not saying it's true of course, but you'd highly doubt a poster like that would come on and tell lies. The information passed to him/her may not be exactly correct but the fall out suggests that something has indeed gone on, either around the Dubai trip or other. I don't buy the notion that these players are giving 100% for the manager either and I can see that with my own eyes. A number of them are going through the motions. All isn't right at the club and for one reason or another it is getting worse not better and it has certainly surrounded this managers arrival at the club.

I don’t see any particular issue in this instance. If they wanted a drink that badly surely they could have had one in the hotel. If you’re not prepared to abide by your employer’s terms and conditions then go get another job.

My point is that the kit man and Delap should have been disciplined immediately after the alleged event, for me the only thing Neil did wrong was to wait to relieve them of their duties. If the allegations are correct they should have been immediately sacked
