Neil Critchley at Blackpool has done a great job since he took over at Blackpool and has got what is essentially a league 1 squad performing to the same level as Stoke. He would probably be interested in joining a bigger club. The job at Stoke is bigger than Neil Critchley. It's still a real tough gig and is proving to be a real poisoned chalice. Agree - but sadly it's also proving to be way too big a job for MON. You can't jump from the likes of Brechin City and Shamrock Rovers to Stoke City 10 games a year with an international team doesn't compare - every game is a essentially a cup-tie or a friendly in international football

For me next season was always going to be his shot at promotion. What's annoying is that we started the season well and have completely derailed again.
I think he deserves next season to finish the rebuild in the summer and have a go at promotion. I don't think we're at risk of relegation with MO'N so it's worth risking him for one last shot.

Very interesting (although you never know how representative any sample is) that it's hovering at 55-45 now. Either it shows there's still quite a big reservoir of goodwill towards MON, or lots of people more in favour of making a call at the end of the season which is now a more natural break point? Interesting to know how many MON-INers are only in provisionally until we see how the last 11 games of the season go, and how many are keen on giving him another summer to build regardless of how the run-in has played out? I also think that's the interesting part. I'm MON IN at the moment, I think he should given until the end of the season. However he should be told, prove you should still be here between now and then or you're gone.

If this form carries over then we 100% are in danger of relegation. We don't so much need to finish the rebuild as pretty much start from scratch, including going back to the drawing board tactically, because the manager seems not to know how he wants to play anymore.

Finish the rebuild.
We need at least 4 starters.
That's massive and probably conservative.

If you mean that then getting the players to be fighting more the ball on the pitch, better performances and probably winning 5 out the next 11 matches would be the criteria I'd be looking for.

Right now I'm still in the in camp. But. I've had enough of throw ins and free kicks that end up back at our keeper. I've had enough of fucking about with the ball at the back when we can't deal with opposition pressing us. It's very close for me. Another shit show tomorrow and the pressure mounts exponentially. A good win doesn't even alter the situation much. And there's the rub. It's so close, tomorrow is decision time for me, and I'm not bothered about the result, just the performance. It's winding me up even typing this, but once the crowd goes past the tipping point we've seen what can happen. I've walked from the Boothen end to the players entrance in an enraged mob to hurl coins and abuse before. Don't let's go there again.

Wilmot Souttar ? Tymon Baker ? ? Campbell Powell For a back 3 Bonham/Bursik ? Wilmot Souttar ? Baker ? Campbell Powell ? ? For a 4 And that's including a bloke who we don't know when he will be back in Souttar. Quite a big task for what's meant to be the finishing touches for a rebuild.

I think the poor form is just a dip and we can/will pick up. What he needs to sort out is getting some consistency into the team which injuries have prevented this season. I'm not sure why you think we need to go back to the drawing board? With everyone fit we have a good squad that just needs tweaking to find the balance. If we get Souttar and Powell fit, find a decent right back and defensive mid, we can have a real go at promotion.

If Baker, Campbell, Powell and Maja can perform consistently then it's a pretty balanced team. Competition/Upgrades from Tymon and Thompson and it could be enough.

And the manager's ongoing loss of the plot is why we need to go back to the drawing board. Chopping and changing systems and personnel wildly hoping to find something, anything that works suggests he doesn't know how to fix things. It used to seem like he had an idea of how he wanted to play, but it's no longer clear what that is.

I think what this shows is that the majority of posters on this thread are of a type who are quick to post negative themes/opinions and there is actually a significant silent population on the forum who are generally just interested observers. I am a fairly frequent poster, but not on here every day and will generally steer clear when we have lost as it becomes very toxic very quickly and a lot of people are either spouting absolute rubbish or have no idea about the game of football in general.

DWP needs to show that he deserves a spot but could come good. Thought it was reported that we're obliged to buy him at the end of the loan?

Just there's an agreement, it's been worded loads of ways. And as Rob says 3.5m is way too much and I really like the look of him.
