Taking Tymon off before half time was very poor management. Injury or not he looked distraught Very poor Mr Jones So you would have kept him out there with an injury then? H

Maybe he sees him in training and he performs but in a game situation in front of 25,000 people is completely different but there’s only one way to find out! We could have conceded again so Jones acted.... do you want him to do nothing then when we concede people would say why didn’t he take him off? I hope all these people having a go at the manager after TWO weeks are in the future going to be brave enough to come back and admit they got it wrong? But Jones is making mistakes,I bet he'd be the 1st to admit it if you asked him. It's a learning curve for him,he's an inexperienced manager. Are fans not allowed to comment then ? Of course he will make mistakes, he’s still getting to know people but some of the criticism is O.T.T. I have absolutely no doubt that we have a very good manager here and will give him all the time he needs Further down the line I hope we will have a fine attacking side, breaking all kinds of records like he created at Luton

Here we go again. Jumping on the managers back after 2-3 weeks in the job. Stoke fans are genuinely unbelievable. He’s got a massive job on his hands that could take 2-3 years to fix due to transfer windows. Look at the bigger picture for fuck sake

4 managers and still the same problems......how many more managers before we find a fix? Goes to show maybe it inner the managers that are the problem. It's the players that aren't very good.

Although I personally think we're going to be a decade or more in the wilderness and even be flirting with relegation during that time - we have killed the goose that laid the golden egg over a period of 2 or 3 seasons of complacency, arrogance, dire executive management & woeful transfer dealing. No manager on earth could make a silk purse out of this sows ear - so Jones needs Pulis-like timeframes to get us something like. Worst of it is that it could all have been avoided.....

Bad for his confidence but honestly he was terrible. Refused to bomb on and hampered our attack down the left. What was to be gained taking him off a whole 2 minutes before HT if it were tactical ? Yea that was more like a statement if he wasn’t injured...

Short, sharp and bang on the button. At 66 I’m only hoping your comment about a “decade” is way of the mark.

As a matter of interest what did people expect , he’s been a manager just a couple of years ,he’s never managed at this level or higher , he’s youngish more mailable and much cheaper than any elite option , he is going to make mistakes .it was a guranteed roller coaster which may well get much much worse before the hoped for improvement . He was selected by those running a process who had just made two catastrophic appointments in 12 months . He is very likeable and understandably naive he is doing exactly what his CV suggests he would , if people have an issue with that look to those who own endorse and run the process that selected him and the players at his disposal . One of the country’s leading football writers told me last week that Jones has turned down a number of clubs and is widely regarded as one of the highest potential young mangers. He felt we had done really well to get him

Spot on. The club made a decision to go for a younger generation in the hope the it will bring success in the medium/long term rather than go for the tried and tested end the possibility of short term success. Things are inevitably going to get worse before they get better - so despite you and the OP being correct what happened yesterday is an inevitable consequence of the clubs decision to go for Jones rather than someone like Allardyce. We have given up on promotion this year and hopefully we'll secure enough points to avoid relegation. Jones's honeymoon period is over - in fact for those wanting an old guard appointment it never started. Hopefully Jones and the club will simply ignore the abuse that will get hurled their way for the rest of the season and hold fast to the what they hoping for - a complete rebuild that brings success in 2/3 seasons time. In the meantime Jones will continue to make howlers like the ones yesterday until he finds his feet at this level. Or not. My concern re Jones is that he seems to wear his heart on his sleeve and seems very thin skinned. When the abuse starts in earnest I don't think he will take it as well as others. If he doesn't over achieve this season I think the abuse will get to him and he'll walk.

Whilst I agree in essence, the rebuild had to start further on from the manager and the process needed rectifying. It's failed us for far too long, it's quite obvious who and what I'm referring to, it doesn't even need to be stated any more. 🙄

The substitution was awful. Thought was plain to see but maybe not for all. We did change our shape when Tymon went off, from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2. Clearly went 3-5-2 as a result of the good performance against Leeds...the change to 4-4-2 did bring more attacking intent and chances, that was plain to see

We may as well had 10 men before and after the substitution. They ran all over us for 90 minutes. Thought was even clearer to see but like I said maybe not for all . Attacking intent? What minute in the game did we test their keeper for the first time? That attacking intent?

As a matter of urgency, Jones should find room in the team for Bojan and Ince. Clucas could drop behind as a wing back although I would prefer Pieters in that position. Of course it will help massively when Charlie gets back into the team. However, I am sure his last two performances will have been noted by Managers and he will be heavily marked. Yesterday's substitutes were bizarre, what ever was the Manager thinking about? Early days I know, but still worrying.

No issue with him taking Tymon off when he did,if a player is a big liabilty which Tymon was,you get them off ASAP.
Keeping him on for a further 3 mins.could well have seen us go 2 goals down before Half Time.

It was poor man management of Tymon, but he needs time Sorry, but he doesn't. He is way off the required level. I mean the manager needs time not Tymon. I was questioning the timing of the sub. He did'nt look injured to me so he could of waited a few more minutes till half time.

If he was injured then he was being dramatic and it’s his own fault.

Stop blaming managers, some of the idle fuckers have been through 5 of them. ITS THE PLAYERS! They are not fit, not bothered or both. The signings Rowett made should give us huge cause for concern. They are all journeyman mercenaries who clearly don't give two tits for SCFC.

Not one of the players he brought in is worth anywhere near what we paid for them. We're in the shit. Poor recruitment could hamstring us for years

For the next match, (injuries aside) i've go for something a little unconventional.
---------- Butland --------- Bauer Williams BMI Pieters ----------- Allen ----------- -- McCLean -----Etebo ----- ---------- Bojan ----------- ---- Ince ------ Campbell ---
Allen can and has played as a holding DM for Wales, and I think if he's instructed, he can again albeit temporarily. McClean, to his credit, he has been a threat whenever he has been on the pitch, and he seems comfortable on the right, so being on the right of a diamond should be ok. Etebo started as a left winger, so naturally, i think he'd be good on that side of the diamond. Bojan - just get him on Jonesy, give the forwards some balls to chase Ince upfront. Well, i think as it's a slightly more selfish role, he could excel there and if he has creativity behind him, then between them, they should conjure something up.
On the bench. Woods Edwards Afobe (needs a refresh, i still think he'll come good) Sorenson Shawcross Federici Saido
Absolutely no Clucas, Crouch, Tymon, Fletcher in the squad.
