BMI at LWB was comical to be honest. Not wanting GR back but people slammed his weird team selections. You won’t get much weirder than yesterday..... BMI didn't play as lwb, but as a traditional fb. And yes, no good at all.

You might argue that. But it would be bat-shit mental. There was a golden generation until 2012. How we failed to build on the 2012 team is unbelievable. The most expensive team we have ever had in the history of stoke city and we’ve ended up with this lot. Was there? There has not been any forward thinking about recruitment and player development for years. A series of ready made pros were signed to do a job but with no sell on value. Even when we have sold for a profit we haven't maximised the value with one exception. A club like Stoke City being the 6th highest net spenders (I think that is correct) in the PL when we were there tells you all you need to know about our recruitment. The process was flawed under Pulis, the club tried to fix it and made the biggest balls up of it in history. We're now paying the price.

Anyone with an ounce of sense can see tymon and campbell are way way short of what is required at this level clearly the manager cant I'd also include Clucas and Afobe in that list.

Taking Tymon off before half time was very poor management. Injury or not he looked distraught Very poor Mr Jones We dont know what goes on behind closed doors, although I did think it a bit harsh on tymon the truth of the matter is that every single time the lad has played he has shown he is not good enough. He had opportunity to cross twice in the first half and didn't, he goes missing instead of having the confidence to use the wing, his defending leaves an awful lot to be desired and I think hes totally out of his depth. We wanted Andy Robinson and instead got his tymon he desperately needs a loan move to build his confidence because this is not the platform or pressure he needs. Perhaps the substitution was the managers way of answering a player who believes hes better than he actually is.

Jones appointment is a joke history will show that he was picked as a cheap option to get fans off back to buy into the idea the club needs time to get rid of all the dross etc there by giving the board and idiots running club time he is out of his depth Come back and say it this time next year, I’ve got a feeling you are going to look very stupid. This post is exactly what nathan Jones us up against. This is part of a 3 season plan to completely rebuild this squad, it's not going to happen in a flash. Put it this way there is not a chance that the board will replace NJ hes here to sort this mess out, if that means upsetting u23 players then so be it. He is assessing and evaluating the mentality and physical ability of the players. If you're sick of NJ now then you really are in for a long ride.

Taking Tymon off before half time was very poor management. Injury or not he looked distraught Very poor Mr Jones Injury or not? So are you suggesting that Jones should have kept him on even if injured, just to avoid hurting his feeling? He’s a professional footballer for fucks sake, not some fucking child who was on the pitch as some sort of Jim’ll Fix It case. +1. We looked like conceding every time they attacked down that side. With 4-5 mins left of the second half we could quite easily have conceded another. Jones spotted that and took him off. It shows clearly that Tymon isn’t ready for senior level football if he can’t handle being substituted. He needs to go and play with the under 7’s again with his daddy on the touch line.

That would make our last good set of dealings the ones in 2004. Some excellent signings there... Dave Brammer Free 07 Jul, 2004 Steve Simonsen Free 08 Jul, 2004 Steve Guppy Free 13 Sep, 2004 Adam Vass Signed 01 Nov, 2004 Lewis Buxton Free 23 Dec, 2004 Anthony Pulis Free 23 Dec, 2004 We also signed Gerry Taggart in February 2003, so it wasn't all bad! I plead my ignorance with this one, did we honestly sign Steve Guppy ? Where was I ? Did he make a appearance and who was running the show ? I think he played two games, did pretty much nothing except take some corners, and left for Wycombe a month later.

Absolute fucking bollocks. I posted that he was dreadful (not the only one albeit) against Shrewsbury that's it. I didn't haul him off before half time in front of 25k supporters when the substitution could have happened 2 minutes later in the dressing room with an explanation as to why. I suppose there are some people so desperate for Jones to succeed that they will look for any excuse to excuse the inexcusable Gouranga. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/ibnJJzaA6ZhfTOIekEAf.gif) Ok I guess I was a bit ott so I apologise. it just rankles me when our fans single out Tymon, if not Tymon, then Edwards, then it will be Campbell and Sorensen. I know Tymon is no Roberto Carlos but he may still make a very decent full back in my opinion, he’s very young and needs our support along with of course the managers. I actually agree that taking him off towards the end of the half was a poor thing to do from Jones and now he will have to build him back up. For what it’s worth I didn’t think he was too bad, he even got by his man on the byline on one occasion For me the senior pros need to pull their socks up, they should shoulder the blame Not too bad? He was at fault completely for the goal, he had two opportunities to do something about it. His positional sense was shocking, giving few options to open them up. He did a couple of things later in the half when we stretched play, but overall looked like he lacked the basics. I would have subbed him after 25 minutes. Bringing crouch on was a mistake, but the other subs I agreed with. The senior players particularly Clucas hid meaning we had to keep going sideways and back.

If Tymon was injured you take him off no matter it's just before half time. If it was purely tactical it was a dreadful decision Bad for his confidence but honestly he was terrible. Refused to bomb on and hampered our attack down the left.

Although I agree with Albert, it shows what Jones is currently faced with. Maybe Tymon is the best option at his disposal 🤷♀️
Maybe it’s even worse than the fans believe?? 😱

Maybe he sees him in training and he performs but in a game situation in front of 25,000 people is completely different but there’s only one way to find out! We could have conceded again so Jones acted.... do you want him to do nothing then when we concede people would say why didn’t he take him off? I hope all these people having a go at the manager after TWO weeks are in the future going to be brave enough to come back and admit they got it wrong?

Today was another huge eye opener for Jones, much like Brentford was into what he has at his disposable and player adaptability. If he’s as astute and clever as he talks, he’ll learn from this to insure things will change going forward. Keep the faith 🙄 Spot on ![(bravo)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/aX_EnhrKOKv0Zc_aN8eF.gif)

So Stoke fans continue on with their whinging about a 4th manager in a row, this time after 3 league games including a win over the best team in this league.
I'll start getting interested again when we've replaced the entire defence and Joe Allen.
It's embarrassing that these 5 positions haven't been sorted under 4 different managers. Truly embarrassing and pretty predictable/boring now.
No sign of it changing now we're linked with a bigger centre forward. At least we might draw a few more games 2-2 or lose narrowly 2-3. Because this defence has been the root of all problems for years and we're not going anywhere fast if it keeps staying the same.

Jones is that clever he's probably absolutely shafted Josh Tymon solely to expose how bad our LB spot/cover is.
He probably turned round to Scholes/Cartwright behind Tymon's back as he sat back on the bench doing the whole "He's wank" signs, just nobody saw that.

He lives and dies by his decisions at least he’s making then quicker than Rowett did, recognises he was wrong changed it can’t do any more with a squad where not one is his choice to have there.

Today showed we are definately at the start of a long journey wherever that takes us. Our players couldn't pick themselves up for this game, from the back we didn't seem to have the ability to break, , Butlands distribution is poor, he doesn't seem to be capable of picking a long kick out to set us on a break, the short pass always puts us under pressure. Tymon was bullied off the ball, as were a lot of our players, we just didn't seem to be up for it Campbell and Afoebe were ineffective and isolated today. We supplied very little, and what little we did were half chances which they gave up on. I did feel sorry for Tymon, but he was being over run, and I guess the manager wanted to change things and then emphasise the change at half time. We were never at the races today- a combination of poor tactics not utilising players strengths and a lethargic approach. My final question is what's happened to Pieters ?

People who are doubting Jones after 4 games are absolutely deluded, 4 F**KING GAMES and you are questioning a manager who has openly said that this is going to take time, he has even said that it may get worse before he is able to steady the ship. Do you really think that he will want to get this team promoted with the shower that we currently have at our disposal? Just imagine the work that would have to be done in the summer if we somehow went up. It would be near impossible to get anything even close to surviving. Jones needs experience ion this environment and build for the long term, this is no quick fix. This season is write off the majority of us have our heads screwed on to realise this and Jones is quite rightly using this to assess and decide what we need to build something for the next decade and further, not the rest of this season!

When you think about it, how insane was/is it to continue with exactly the same defenders as the ones who saw us comfortably relegated? We dished out new contracts right, left and centre to absolute losers and signed more absolute recently relegated losers in Clucas and McClean. I mean, seriously?

Certainly not doubting him. But he Can’t be quite so naive on systems and youngsters , Adam has proven a bit of class is permanent m Diouf , ince , Pieters all need to feature at Hull if available , tymon , Campbell , Sorensen should be down the road at Grimsby , we need to be sure we can get safe ASAP before we experiment , right now we look like we could lose 4 or more of the next 6 , he’d then be looking at a highly pressured run needing 12 points against a tailspin
