We'll have to let Rafa down gently before we offer the job to Moyesy, fuck me it's a cruel world we live in.

Moyes didn't want the Stoke job when it was a much more attractive job than it is now. Whats changed? Dull as dishwater to boot. Can’t be any more dull than Rowett surely Do you fink? I don't think Gazza is "dull" at all. Do I like the bloke: not from what I have seen, no. The Rowett football however is mind-numbingly, interminably, unfathomably, disastrously, from an era that no one even members any more, shit. Moyes is dull/dour and the football will be driven by his personality and drive. I can't see any way he has any true ambition left other than reputation damage limitation which gets no one anywhere in any business. You will never be your own man as you look over your shoulder the whole time trying to see if what you do is "approved of". Better than Rowett - yes, but to be honest a multitude of options were also available and better than Rowett when he was appointed.

Moyes didn't want the Stoke job when it was a much more attractive job than it is now. Whats changed? Dull as dishwater to boot. What has changed is Moyes realises he is not currently in demand for a Premier League job and he would back himself to quickly improve a massively under performing squad thereby restoring his profile. Mate, that's fine but all it means is, if he takes the job his motivation is primarily personal not based on a "project". Like all the other "pre-brexit red passport brigade" he has one career trajectory at this point if things don't go his way, and he is already on it.

Always said it, but think Moyes would be a great fit for us. He needs to rebuild his reputation, was a good mix between pragmatism and creativity. He will benefit from English owners. He will also want to oversee all aspects of the club, scouting, opposition analysis, player recruitment, recovery, youth setup, training. This is what he did at Man Utd and Everton. This is exactly what we need. The guy was known for being meticulous and wanting to be involved in everything. He should see straight through the pizza boys all being well. He was eventually able to put together a successful youth setup at Everton and pretty consistent transfer team. Just take a read of this from 2013... www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/scouting-system-that-reveals-david-moyes-mind-8756011.htmlIf you think we are anything like this now you're kidding yourselves. Sure its been said when Rowett came he said in discussions with the club "We need a player like Benik Afobe" and the club had no other thought than getting Benik Afobe...This is not how Moyes works. It should hopefully give a better return on the Coatesy investment in the long term. Everton weren't a big club but were ambitious and consistent. Exactly what we should have been trying to become but a bad transfer strategy, bad youth setup and lack of overall vision meant it was a mess. Stoke has always needed a manager to run the club from top to bottom. Pulis did it and hopefully if we get Moyes he will do the same. Id prefer Moyes over allardyce all day, there's no chance allardyce will change or do anything different. Moyes at least seems to enjoy all aspects of football. You don't get the second highest number of manager of the year awards behind Ferguson and get hand picked for Man Utd manager by the greatest manager in history if there isn't some quality there. The only part that really, really worries me is he and Scholes and friends, so may not fix the long term issues... Allardyce would change everything , technically he is far more advanced

Allardyce would change everything , technically he is far more advanced Utter nonsense First man to use pro zone , first to focus on interim rest , simple 10 rule plan players can follow ,never relegated , promotion on his cv from this league , Bolton into Europe England manager on merit , he’s a fantastic manager , and would change our back room team and approach entirely

However, as many people would/should ask - Whats your career trajectory from here...... Why is this role attractive to you - Non of these "better than Rowett names" can ever possibly think that managing Stoke helps them in any way. Sorry, I just don't buy it. But yeah, I am sure enough money will make him think a bit. But will it help Stoke long term? I don't think so.

His win percentage of 18.6 % at Sunderland surely secures him the job . Rowett on 32.1 win percentage. Although not brilliant his win percentage at Sunderland was 29% 39.4 % overall. A tad better than our Gary's much of which as been in the top division. link - 29%

Would he want to accept a offer from a mid table EFL Championship club that is in meltdown and whose fans are in open revolt with anything that moves ? After all he would only be back in the same scenario he was at Bolton. The only Cup,title or gong Moyes has to his name is promotion to this league with Preston and a failed play off place to the Premier League, But ask yourself, with enough money in your pocket would the Stoke job be attractive ? Would you want the hassle and certain abuse that eventually would be coming your way ?

Dour playing style that mirrors his personality. Did well at Everton and PNE. May not have been given enough time at the Shit (he did win more than 50% of his games in charge) - the following two managers suffered the same fate - probably because Fergie and Bobby Charlton are still calling the shots. Hasn’t done much since.
May be the best available. Not sure why he would come given the mess we’re in.

Come on people, the Sunderland job was a fucking nightmare and one he just shouldn't have taken, that was his mistake and that squad he inherited with NO money to spend was doomed.
We have money and we have enough decent players already here to be in the mix.

We need a manager that will be willing to cast aside the likes of Fletcher, Crouch and dare I even say it Shawcross.
We’ve got a number of decent prospects coming through and yet we continue to persevere with the old guard who are getting wanker by the week.
Until we appoint a manager that puts his trust in young hungry players this club is going nowhere fast.

Time of year when Prem League chairmen start pulling the trigger. Would possibly make sense for any out of work manager with some sort of pedigree to hold tight & see what comes available. I think Moyes would be a real coup for us. See Man U and Sunderland

I'd prefer Jokanovic however nothing to suggest Stoke are interested. If we are going on the dinosaur route than at least it's the best of those.

He knows how to get promotion and his shown an ability to both build and evolve teams over a period of time. If we could get him hes the man for me. Allardyce Jokanovic Moyes In that order for me. Whilst I'm no great fan of Moyes he would at least command the respect of the players and be in a strong enough position given his record elsewhere to make an impact at all levels of the club, on and off the pitch. More than anything, that's what we need, regardless of who the person is. Someone everyone can unite behind and start the process of getting everyone pulling in same direction

Guess which club Allerdyce had his lowest % wins at: Sxxxxxxxxd www.managerstats.co.uk/managers/sam-allardyce/How many want Poyet? He had a better record at Sunderland than Allerdyce or Moyes: www.managerstats.co.uk/clubs/sunderland/ Not many. Having seen Woy turn Palace around, and Warnock getting Palace promoted, I am not so anti journeymen as some. There is life in the old dogs yet, that most young managers cannot match. Moyes is one of the younger old dogs, and has been very advanced in his thinking. " ..scared of his own shadow"

We’ve had a few Goes at recruitment in the bargain basement , there is a reason why he is expensive , it’s because every club he has left has been in a better position than when he arrived , Bolton , Blackburn , Newcastle , Everton , Palace , Sunderland at least three of those played some decent stuff too .
