He's getting as much game time as he should have expected. Hardly any.
He will feature heavily in the games that Liverpool FC aren't particularly bothered about and that's it.

Personally, I don't think the interview comes across miserable or dissatisfied whatsoever. However, if he is..... what did he expect? It's like Asmir when he went to Chelsea genuinely believing he was going to break into the 1st team. It was never going to happen.
Shaqiri will be a useful bit part player for Liverpool, but realistically, they require consistent performers and players who deliver when shit is hitting the fan. Shaq is inconsistent, despite being our best player last season. Did he deliver when we needed it most? Perhaps, but it was never clear cut.

Starting a new thread. Lesson 1. Read the article you're linking to, not just the headline. That's why I put a question mark in the thread title: "Shaqiri dissatisfied at Liverpool ?"
If I thought he was dissatisfied I would have written "Shaqiri dissatisfied at Liverpool." Get it?

Surely just saying the same things any other professional footballer would say to the media?

Looks like he's loving the place. Congratulations on yet another goal, Shaq.
Missing this guy so much, when I look at the current squad it bores me to tears. Full of also rans and absolute rubbish footballers. If they weren't pulling in such good wages, i'd imagine half of them would walk off as they must be embaressed when they watch themselves back on TV (if they can find it nowadays on Quest).
I really wish I wasn't brought up a stoke fan, I've supported them since the early 1980s and was satisfied enough because I didn't know any better, since we've had 10 years in the limelight, the current depression is awful. I think I'll be bringing my son up to support a bigger club - otherwise he won't know the joys of watching big players play in the WC, or his club play in the champs league and instead will have to be satisfied with the JP trophy or whatever it's called, and regular tuesday night games against scunthorpe.
:@ thanks Coates for creating a "legacy"

Don't people agree though that we have now got to look forward to clucking clucas (as some sort of saviour) and try hard McLean on top of where's Afobe gone...when we used to have class footballers.
We've just got third/fourth rate plodders now. It's so depressing.
Some of you might be happy to watch third tier football ... It's sounding that way anyway!

I want to watch high quality football.... Maybe that's where I'm going wrong, probably need to look more into some of our ex players backgrounds and start enjoying doing that or something

I'll agree that the players we have now are nowhere near the standard that we had when we were finishing in the top half of the Prem. And no doubt all of us share your sadness at our current situation. However, you'll be in a tiny minority if you think the solution is to support another club. Most football fans simply don't switch clubs in the same way they might switch supermarkets - that is because they are fans not simply customers. But if you do find another club to support, you'll not be missed by me - and I doubt if many fans will shed a tear.

Sounds like you need to go and support the local council mate, they're the ones that stand for the city - they have regular meetings, you could get yourself to some of those if you need an outing?

I think I bought into that for a while, but more recently I just want to watch good football. I got hooked in the prem, even in the final few bad years. Just being able to watch great players week in week out was amazing. Seeing our players play in WCs, playing in Europe, just great stuff. I think the consensus in here is correct, I am being stupid - small cities (although I don't think Stoke is as bad as you guys are making out...) probably see their local teams as a focal point of the community. I guess I want to be part of the big time, rather than small fry. I'll reflect and adjust as appropriate.

Admittedly I could just be being a bit misty-eyed about how I see the club and indeed the place I haven’t even lived in since being a small child.

Stoke is in the blood, thoughts of supporting someone else is borderline criminal. Times are changing. I'm much looking forward to today's City v Utd game. Far more than yesterday's shite. People wanting us in the champ for competitive games are fools. The football is @@@@ and I think half of our support is more interested in getting pissed than actually watching the game. I used to be proud of our team, now as the poster suggests we are full of third third rate plodders who I only have any interest in because they play in the stripes. There is zero entertainment watching this @@@@.

The ideal would be for Steewee to live in the USA (if he doesn't already do so) and follow a team in a sport where there is no promotion or relegation and where most teams in a league have roughly the same budget for buying and paying their players. That way he can pick a franchise and be pretty well certain that they will be around playing in the same league for the rest of his life. Of course there is a danger that another city might bid for that franchise and succeed in moving "his" team a thousand miles or more to another city. But I'm sure he'll be happy to follow them at their new home seeing that a "sense of community and his club being a focal point" appear to rate so low on his list of priorities. You could to worse support Orlando City, Steewee - at least it has a slight Stoke connection seeing that their life president is a Stokie born and bred.
