I cannot for the life of me see why people want Bauer on the wing. Say what you like about Diouf but at least he's got a goal in him. Bauer is a RB who isn't very good defensively. Being a nice guy with a seemingly decent attitude doesn't mean he should be in the team, sorry. He should be in the matchday squad at the very least. Sadly our maager has been drawn into Scholes' tawdry Political machinations. So which home grown player should be on the bench , and in place of who? That would also mean demoting Edwards of course.

Anyone instead of Fletcher? Whatever the reasoning the player doesn't have to be made a prick of by being sent to Sunderland to play with the kids on a Tuesday night if it's just a football decision.

I do agree with you re with his exclusion mate but I’m sure I read he requested to play in those matches

Rowett again in yesterday's presser said Bauer had asked to play to maintain his fitness. Sadly he will be gone in January.....Bauer not Rowett which is doubly sad

But if he did get sent out to play with the kiddies for whatever political reason, you'd expect him to look like a good footballer if not head and shoulders above - Not making positional errors and struggling to defend at times. As much as GR is hanging him out to dry, I don't think he's helped himself too much at all.

Solution for now - Ince on the left and Bauer on the right of midfield. It avoids the unedifying sight of Diouf out wide and gives us a wide man with pace who can cross. I think he is a natural wing back and, unless we play that system, with a back three, I think Rowett will not pick him. So move Ince (naturally right footed) to accommodate Bauer? If Ince had an indifferent game in an unnatural position who would get the blame, Ince, GR or both? I am not sure what games you have been watching, but Ince is naturally left footed and is used on the right as a "trendy" inverted winger.

It's hardly rocket science The U-23 game was pretty competitive from what I saw.

Similar to bojan really, so many things associated with scfc tend to disappoint, maybe I should just not be expectant and always be pleasantly surprised (isn't that the Stoke way? You can see why it could be assumed so). He needs to do way more for me, he's justifying his own dropping

Would prefer Bauer as a CM than Fletcher. Could imagine him as an energetic little unit. Good bursts of pace, nice crisp passes and can tackle. That’s my biggest issue. How does Fletcher get on the bench he’s dreadful. I know! Can only imagine Rowett likes him... solid no nonsense bloke like himself, knows how to get on the right side of him etc....

Adam trained with kids this morning then played golf at trentham.

Nobody in the media has the testicles to ask Jey, and the longer it goes on the more I personally think that Moritz is being played as some pawn in a game of Rowett vs The Pizza Boys. Jeez...by no means the worse defender in our squad, yet the stubborn b'stard refuses to budge & keeps coming out with some bile that sadly nobody is buying anymore
