I've just watched it three times and can't see what you are banging on about. It wasn't right in the corner but he struck it so well, so powerfully, the keeper had no chance....and that was the object of the exercise. Football must be rather joyless to you. If anything isn't 100% perfect, or more to the point, how you want it, you aren't happy. I disagree. It was just poor goalkeeping and a decent keeper should save it. I was very happy with the result though? Decent keeper? He dived the right way but the shot was hit so well it went in.

How tedious. No criticism of the Kane penalty in the match. If the keeper had stood still he'd have caught it. But guess what....it is a competition. One man against another. The best penalties can be saved and the worst scored. Dier's penalty was scored. Therefore it was good. Simple. Your last two statements there are totally contradictory I was using Bayern's comments about 'best' and 'worst'. My position is that of the final statement.

Just when you think even the person who moans about fucking everything couldn't moan at England winning a World Cup game... Well done on your winning penalty Eric to put your nation through to the next round, but next time can you improve your technique as Bayern wasn't very happy with it. Never heard someone chat so much shit in my entire life. Why? It was a wank penalty and it needs to be improved if he wants to take one again. I think he deserved absolute credit for having the balls to step up and take a penalty. Better players than him have shirked the responsibility in the past (Paul Ince, anyone?). Technique comes a very distant second to bottle when it comes to penalties at this level. He had the bottle to step up and put it away, end of story.

It's beyond belief.

And Ekker's was fine. He hit it so well the keeper couldn't keep it out despite diving the right way.

If you asked Eric Dier "did you hit that penalty as well as you wanted?!" He'd say no. However, who the fuck really cares?! It's coming home so chill out.

Part of the plethora of problems surrounding the England team has been the mindless thick notion penalty shootouts are just a lottery or luck based.
Hopefully that's beginning to change. If we don't go through on Saturday he'll become another figure for dull old hatred and get called c**t a lot on twitter. BUT in reality if he's helped English football to grow up and take their head out of the sand he's a positive influence.

It's about far more than just technique.

Brave to persevere with the younger players from the qualifiers right through to this point, a lot to be said for the u23 manager working with many of the same players at senior level

Really modest and lacking any ego, and it seems to have translated to the team who are more unified than ever.
Unifying the fans too!
