Ffs this is getting pathetic ( bye shaq, come back shaq we love you shaq) we’ve used him and he’s used us it’s business get over it and move on, I don’t think I’ve read his open letter to the stoke fans thanking us for the support that we have given him and also to the club that were so patient when he picked up his various injuries.

Thought we'd get 15-20 for him So, we have lost between £1.5m and £6.5m on that basis. No big deal and could be easily offset by the steal we made in paying only £6.2m for Etebo. Now we need to offset the £64 million we paid for Beery rhino, Whimper, Imbula and Ndiya

I've watched Stoke since 86 and he's probably the most technically gifted player I've seen in a Stoke shirt but my reaction is 'meh' and a shoulder shrug. I've been gutted for weeks when lesser players have left - never really think we saw the best of him apart from sporadic flashes.

Not convinced Beagrie would have got in a Bayern Munich squad or top 7 Serie A side. Who was the goal against when he dribbled all the way up the other end of the park from a corner? I missed it having a shit!!!!

I've been gutted for weeks when lesser players have left - never really think we saw the best of him apart from sporadic flashes. Peter Hoekstra was the best for me, I was more gutted losing him to injury than I am losing shaq, he was like a magician at times with his passing flicks and tricks and a few of the goals he scored, he would of been as big of a legend as fuller if it wasn't for the injuries cutting short his stay at stoke.

It’s absolutely gutting that this is the best quality video of the goal. He had the most ridiculous habit of beating his man so many times before sometimes delivering a cross, but Christ, the goals he scored were out of this world.

If your inaugural and teenage years coincided with lowest ever ebb of the club it's been the thinnest of thin gruels. Shaqiri is easily in the top four of five gifted players in my four decades of supporting the club.

Very good on his day. Provided some moments of genius but failed to affect the game positively enough, frequently enough. Can understand his frustration last year and his desire to move on. Never seen a player in a Stoke shirt booed so vociferously as that game against Newcastle! Good luck Shaq

Shaqiri is easily in the top four of five gifted players in my four decades of supporting the club. I think in some cases it’s down to how you view football. Some people like to have a connection with players where others don’t need that connection. The phrase you see quite often about Shaq, and I’ve used it myself is “never warmed to him.” I was and still am gutted that Arnie’s no longer with us, whereas Shaq’s just another player that’s been and gone. A very high quality one obviously, but not one I’ll get depressed over when I watch him on MOTD, which I tend to do when I see our crazy Austrian genius in the claret and blue.

He was clearly on a different level to most of those around him during his time here and it was a pleasure to watch him. I reckon he’ll thrive at Liverpool with the pace and movement of their forwards.
He’s also a class act, he knew he was going and at Swansea he was one of the last players to leave the pitch’s applauding the supporters (if not the last).

Beagrie was much better technically Defo think there could be an arguement and he was my favourite player for years but think Shaq still. Not convinced Beagrie would have got in a Bayern Munich squad or top 7 Serie A side. He got into an Everton side that finished 6th the season he joined them. I don’t think the claim about Beagrie being better technically is too outlandish. They could both frustrate. They could both score fantastic goals. When Shaq went to beat a man, Shaq usually ended up on the floor. When Beagrie took his man on, it was the defender that more often than not was left on his arse. People forget just how gifted Beagrie could be. Different times, and I wouldn’t like to make a judgement one way or the other as to who was better, although Beagrie faded badly after he left us, which I don’t think Shaq will.

I think Shaq was a quality signing, a real game changer and the only one we had last season. Yes I'd liked to have seen him work harder and on a more consistent basis but like I've said previously that's one of the reasons we were probably able to get him. He's going to a team with more players on his wavelength and even if he is only a bit part player he'll make an impact I'm sure.
