Brilliant news.
He will comfortably be one of if not the best central midfielder in the championship.

Massive rarity in today's game which he sums up perfectly when he talks of players wanting to wash their hands of times of adversity. Whatever you think of his attributes as a player he deserves commending for wanting to put things right, hopefully the fire that he'll have in him will transfer to the new comers who might not have as much to prove

Cue a load of bitter comments from the tosspots that infest the HYS forums on the bbc. āLack of ambitionā āI can see stoke finishing mid-table and going the way of leeds Coventry and Sunderlandā etc etc.
Iām as thrilled as I was the day Shaqiri finally signed. Bring on the hate and derision because itās our oxygen.

Wow, just when all hope was lost that there were any footballers left with a shred of dignity or integrity this happens. Well done Joe and well done Stoke; let that be a lesson to the lily liveried, selfish others who gave less than 100% last year and now want out.

This has a massive bearing on our season.
Not just on Joe but on potentially making others stay. I have no doubt Butland will stay. Itās a non tournament year and I think he will commit for at least this year..
Also helps massively with incomings and smoothing new signings in.
Great bit of business by the club.

Excellent news. Could help with future transfers as well if our better players are staying might tempt a few to get on aboard!
