I think part of the problem is if we buy two strikers as rumoured we finish up with 2 plus crouch , berahino , Diouf,Campbell , six for potentially two roles seems excessive , I’ve a slightly uneasy feeling it might turn out to be one plus we’ve bern really impressed with the current crop pres season , especially if butland stays and the war chest shrinks accordingly .For me I’d prefer two and crouch and Campbell to go the latter on loan but crouch is a good egg , would be a big impact player so it’s a tough decision given berahino is likely to be so toxic to others until he either starts scoring or like ranger drips down the leagues as free damaged goods.

If selling Butland is a pre-requisite for buying two (rather than one) then I wouldn't say no to keeping Butland and just signing Afobe. Be very surprised if Butland stays though. Him out and two strikers in seems highly probable. In which case we will have too many. Crouch will attract offers. Diouf might get interest from Germany however his big wages will put them off. No one will buy Berahino and I can't see serious interest for a loan either. Whatever pool of strikers we end up with he's going to be part of it.

At least he appears to be trying. What else would you have him do? For starters. Offer to waiver his salary for six months (or donate it to the DLT) as a gesture to demonstrate self-rehabilitation and an acknowledgement that he has received monies under false pretences for 18 months, let down his fellow professionals and club stakeholders. Be at CW seven days a week working his butt off to get physically and mentally fit for the new season Offer some form of public apology for his conduct over the last 18 months would be nice Honestly, what a load of old arse.

Who the heck would donate 6 months salary, c'mon

I think rhino has had enough chances that the next one has to be earned, not just given.
I'm not asking for anything radical here, just that he turns up for training on time and works hard getting fit - I expect, though, that this will be beyond him.

Pugs So you are full of forgiveness for his complete lack of respect to his employer, profession, professional colleagues, us the paying public for the past 18 months and his contribution towards our relegation then? If not, instead of responding with comments like a “a load of old arse” why not put forward a suggestion (s) for rationale debate

I wouldn't waste my energy even thinking about him, unlike some who go radio rental at the slightest mention of him. It's up to Rowett to decide on him. As for his part in out relegation... he never played so I'm not sure it's on him.

Who the heck would donate 6 months salary, c'mon Berahino has by his actions placed the club in a very difficult position for a number of reasons. He has directly been an influencing factor in our relegation. To suggest a phone call and turning early for training somehow wipes the slate clean after 18 months is a little naive and significantly inadequate. If Berahino gets away with that level of misconduct without any serious reprocussions SCFC will remain a laughing stock in the inner circle of the footballing fraternity for a long time to come

So you're reading and then choosing to post on a thread about Berahino, when you actually openly confess, that you haven't really got any interest in having an opinion about him?
Cool ...

Is he officially up for sale? I've not seen anything anywhere else.

I mean no one will buy him so it's irrelevant, I'd think it's clear he's available to any team who are mental enough to want him.

One of the dead wood and high earners that we need to get rid of for a loss. His toxic impact around the club is more damaging than the short term financial loss we'd inevitably have to take if we got rid of him.
He's one of those players who is too far gone at the club to be rehabilitated. Even if he knuckled down, worked hard over the summer and genuinely tried hard to turn his career around he wouldn't be given a chance by most supporters and he'll forever be associated with the relegation. The only way he could possibly succeed is if he got into the team and instantly started banging goals in but that's highly unlikely in the short term, he needs someone who will give him a run of games and a chance to rebuild his match fitness and sharpness. Our supporters quite rightly would be sceptical of him and simply wouldn't be prepared to give him that chance and would be on his back quickly if he didn't score in his first 2 or 3 games.

The only thing he is officially up for is shagging prostitutes allegedly. It really is no coincidence that you haven't posted on the threads relating to some positive news coming out of the club the past few days, yet you've popped up here.

Let's hope GR can get a tune out of him
If he can't he (Be-a-rhino) needs sacking and cancelling his contract and charged with fraud for impersonating a professional athlete 😬😠

I think I will hold my council on the new signing thanks, don't want to end up looking a right nob end like the posters who were spunking their positivity all over the board when we signed Imbula, maybe you should take note of my stance grasshopper.

He can't prove himself with the stiffs, no-one can,as reserve team football doesn't exist.

it and put the dirty washing in the bin and we should look at legal action against at wba.

Apologies if posted but Sentinel headline says he will be givensame opportunity to prove himself
He sought out Rowett to discuss the past months
Rowett told him what he expects and sent him away to ponder
Let’s see how he reacts

Yes I would...I’d go along with whatever the manager decides. He’s obviously heard something he likes, now the player has to prove it
I’ll be right behind him if he shows the right attitude

Hasn't he had chances? He's had bloody good money, chances and given nothing back. Can you really trust someone like him. We should somehow get rid asap and try to minimise the losses. We're going to lose a shed load but once you get a rotten apple in the barrel you have to get rid before it infects the whole barrel. Then there is a moral case for paying someone like him that much money for doing nothing in a place like SoT. He's had chances spurned them all and done nothing for our club while costing a lot of money that could have gone to more deserving causes.

True. Would solve the Beharinho problem, though, by drowning him in Longport canal.
