Any "chances" (for any of them) need to be earned through endeavour, attitude and proof of application during any matches they are involved with - be it pre-season, u23, etc. The latter is the hardest as non-competetive games rarely bring the effort out - the lack of a second string competition such as the old central league doesn't help.
They should certainly not just be given a chance to prove themselves in Championship matches "to see how they go" - all of the above and some serious judgement and wisdom required on the manager & his staff.

If Berahino wants another chance it's up to him to prove it........not only that but quick smart!! We've probably got very little to lose by trying again, though, because let's face it he's not exactly got suitors lining up for him right now.

If he continues in the same manner he has been doing he might be a great test case for a club ripping a contract up & counter suing for losses.
Be great to see these twats being held accountable for their actions.

I think he needs to be sent to a gulag in Siberia for a month or two - can't see anything less drastic turning his head around.

Yes give Berahino another chance to show he's fitter, sharper and can score goals in some of the friendlies, it's no use waiting till the season starts to find out he's still a waste of space.
We can't base our transfer policy (such as it is) on a vague hope that Bera will do the business. We still need to bring in Afobe and another proven goal scorer, and then hopefully we can also have Bera as a 3rd option.
If we can also get two new wingers and a more creative midfield then I think Bera could finally start to bang the goals in.
It's a BIG IF though.

Let him show the initiative by waiving his salary for 6 months whilst “proving” himself worthy of another chance. Like hell he will!!

We desperately need creative players to supply the forwards be it, Saido or whoever is up front. But if he comes back to preseason looking like he wants it, then yes, id give him another go.
Same with Imbula and Bojan, get them on it and they could easily be the best two players in the league.

Love the comments he’d bag goals in the Championship, he had the time, space and oh the situation from a few yards out to beat the keepers in the Premiership and how did that fair for him??
The Championship will be even harder for him and no he’s had his chances and his attitude obviously created problems in the squad

Please forgive me, but actually no. Must be the damned major language advocacy. Here in Sweden, 'rehabilitation' means someone has an injury, often a severe one - or have some serious drug problems, and have to get help with that, get 'rehabilitated'. I've noticed, in English words often have more meanings. I hope he will adapt. I mean, get him fit, thin again, sharp and he will score.

He has had "a chance" every single day he has been here and has proven to be an embarrassment to himself and the club. A bit like those fat fuckers waddling down the strand you reach a point of no return once you've lost respect for yourself and everyone else and 3 years of doing very little has left Berahino as an empty shell. Only difference is our waste of skin is being rewarded £3m a year for doing fuck all so where's the incentive? I'm aware of the economics of the situation but I'd still get him out of the club even if it means paying him off.

Deserving a chance is an irrelevance. He has a clean slate, if he impresses he will have deserved a chance. If he fails to impress, then he doesn't deserve a chance.
Every manager is a clean slate for every player, it's how life works with meeting new people. You might know a bit about their past from third parties, but it doesn't change how it works.

Pointless not giving him a chance really. We're paying him enough, so we've got to keep finding some way to get a tune out of him.
By giving him a chance I don't mean playing him for the sake of playing him. I just mean that if he performs in training he should be treated in the same way that any other player would.
My concern isn't over his fitness or attitude. He looked to me like he'd lost every footballing instinct he'd ever had. Not sure you can coach that back into him.

At least he appears to be trying. What else would you have him do? For starters. Offer to waiver his salary for six months (or donate it to the DLT) as a gesture to demonstrate self-rehabilitation and an acknowledgement that he has received monies under false pretences for 18 months, let down his fellow professionals and club stakeholders. Be at CW seven days a week working his butt off to get physically and mentally fit for the new season Offer some form of public apology for his conduct over the last 18 months would be nice

He has ability and the drop down to the Championship could be a good thing for him, he will get way more space from defenders which means we should see that materialise in to a lot of goals.
He has to get his head back in it though.
If he comes back for the new season in tip-top condition both physically & mentally and sticks 20+ goals in the net, all is forgiven, right?

Berahino has got talent don’t get me wrong. He has now shown to us fans that he’s a complete and utter liability. Yes, there is always hope that he will somewhat sort himself out and become the player we were hoping he would be. However, Hughes persued this transfer and eventually got it done, showing Berahino loyalty, what did he do in response to this? Took the club as a complete joke, showed no discipline what so ever + treated us fans, and the club as a joke. I’d love to see him firing in the goals, however why keep a player that’s always going to be if’s, but’s and maybe’s? Get him out the club, whilst we have the chance. He’s had his time, he’s pissed it against the wall. We need to move on, remove the egos and the show pony’s as we all know where that has got us!!

We’re paying GR a lot of money to make his own decisions, get all the players on our payroll in to prove themselves, Hughes obviously failed to get the best out of most/all of our big money signings, then let GR choose who he wants to keep, then get rid of the failures ASAP no matter what loss we incurr, for the sake of team spirit.
