No I hear you say, but
1. He is on his way to the WC, so whether he is here or at a Prem club. is irrelevant.
2. Who would he go to that will ensure his first team place? Not a top six club, and any other club could potentially be in a relegation battle. Does he want to risk being an understudy or being in another season of relegation battle, there is very little space in between?
3. He clearly loves the club, and would like to make amends for last season's failure. The club saw him through his injuries. He has been settled, does he need to uproot himself and family?
4. His form is still a bit dodgy after his long lay off. He needs to step back after the WC and get back to his very best.
5. Being in a Championship side would damage his international career, but hopefully we are talking about 1 year. After the WC it's 2 years till the next tournament.
I guess the chances are zilch, but if Allen can be persuaded to say maybe we could persuade Jack.

I suspect (and it is a guess), the club are banking on getting some good money for him and using that to sign others.

Not a chance. He’s at a point in his career where he can’t really risk dropping down a league. I’d say he’s the least likely out of anybody to stay, along with shaqiri. Arsenal and Liverpool would be able to offer him first team football.

Liverpool or arsenal need a new keeper. I anticipate seeing him go to one of them.. but I would be overjoyed if he stayed

I think we need the money from his sale more than we need him to be honest. I hope he moves to a top six side and we get 30-40 million for him.

I think your logic is sound but very very optimistic.
Jack will be under pressure from all sides to leave Stoke this summer. His agent, friends, probably family and I dare say Mr Southgate will all be nudging him to a move. I would agree that one year in the Champ would not ruin his international career but if I put myself in Jack's shoes I wouldn't risk it. If we have a nightmare season he is now a mid table championship keeper and he may not get a chance at a move next summer. He loves us but he doesn't want to be stuck with us should we not deliver.
Cynically I would also say that Stoke may also nudge him as our biggest sellable asset we may have his 30/40m earmarked already.

Dont think theres a chance. He'll be off, probably in nets for England at world cup. Liverpool will be his hope, but maybe even Chelsea should Cortious go, otherwise the west hams of the world will be waiting.

I suspect (and it is a guess), the club are banking on getting some good money for him and using that to sign others. This. He'd be career crazy if he stayed and we can use the dosh (£20m ish hopefully?) to sign the 3 or 4 Rorys, Clints, Mamas even that it takes to get out of this league. Can't see any way the club would have any other plan in mind.

If we could convince him, this is the year. No tournament like you said. However it would a complete step backwards for him. He's potentially the England international goalkeeper and won't be for much longer if he steps down the Championship. I suspect he'll turn up at West Ham or Liverpool.

I really don't expect him to stay - I also think he would be a financial extravagance for the Championship - we need to go with Carson or Grant and look to find the next Butland to come through.
He needs to choose carefully though a top six side would be much less forgiving and being sat on the bench would do more harm to his England credentials than would playing regularly at the top (hopefully) of the Championship.
The only place it would piss me off if he went to them would be Southampton - though what he said about the state of the dressing room under Hughes you would have to imagine that wouldn't happen.

No, not a chance.
I think him being shunned for the number 1 at the world cup will make him hungrier than ever to get a move and prove he's the countries best.
Also, as others above have said, I think the board are expecting to get decent money for him to fund other signings. Personally, I don't think we'll get much over £25m but before his injury he was easily looking like a £40m upwards player.
Just depends who comes in for him now as you mentioned, I can't see him being enough for Liverpool or Arsenal and they are the size of clubs he'll no doubt be aspiring to join.

I think he will stay.
He has always said he would only leave Stoke for Champions League football, but who there would take him? He certainly wouldn't get in at City, United, Chelsea or Spurs. Liverpool are looking at Alisson, leaving Arsenal. But they have a comparatively small budget this year and Butland would blow most of it, and he isn't at the required standard.
Add to that he clearly loves the club, the fans and the hurt on his face when we were relegated, I think he will give us a season.

There’s absolutely no chance. As things stand the England gloves are there for the taking, and once that window slams shut you can be stuck as second or third choice for years. Once an international goalkeeper establishes himself it’s incredibly hard for anyone else to get a look in.
Butland will know that and will know he’s already lost ground to Pickford. He’ll be desperate to get back into the Premier League and we’ll be anxious to get a decent wedge for, at the very least, him and Shaqiri to fund the rebuilding job.

Roma, after being a bit shown up with Salah have supposedly gone a bit mental with asking prices this summer so Liverpool might still be an option.
While a year in the championship realistically wouldn't do much to harm Butland, especially as the major tournament is this summer not next, it shouldn't be a season that does much for his development.
We seem to have Rowett secured now, who is at the least a mindful of defensive matters coach. If our defence is remaining in tact which suggestions are so far that it is, then for such a manager and team set-up Butland shouldn't be in line for a particularly stimulating season.
In theory, even Haugaard should be a viable choice for next season. I mean, I hope no one gets any ideas and tries it. But on paper at least it should be viable.

I think he will leave but my OP was posing the question was there any chance of keeping him? I do think some people are going to be disappointed with the fee if and when he leaves; he has let in a shed load of goals this season and been found culpable quite a few times. It is my view that I don't think there will be a very big offer made, that had me thinking whether he could possibly stay. I'd rather keep him than sell him for 12-15 million.

We need the money for him (as long it goes towards strengthening the team), he is an ok keeper nothing more, be happy with Grsnt as number 1 as he did ok in the Prem when Butland injured.

Pains me to say but I can honestly see him going to Wolves.
They need a new no.1, they have the cash, he won't move to sit on the bench forever as he's already shown and he won;t have to move.

I think it's best for all parties if he leaves for a big fee. He hasn't looked the same player since his injury and I think he'll be surprisingly easy to replace. And if we get a big fee it can be spent on the bigger priority areas like a proven Championship goalscorer and some pace and creativity in midfield.
And from Jack's perspective staying is career suicide. He'd quickly lose his England place and if we didn't bounce straight back his stock will be lower next summer and the clubs and contracts available to him next summer would be less appealing than what he could get this summer.

He's not staying, under any circumstances whatsoever.
Look chaps, I think we all need to get our heads round the fact that we have ceased to be a Premier League club now. We are, once again, just a tinpot little club that couldn't hack it in the big league any longer and dropped out. We are now nobodies again, and we will not be favourites for an immediate return either.
Get used it. Barnsley on a wet November night, that's what we are. The bright lights are gone for good because we threw it all away.
