He's not staying, under any circumstances whatsoever. Look chaps, I think we all need to get our heads round the fact that we have ceased to be a Premier League club now. We are, once again, just a tinpot little club that couldn't hack it in the big league any longer and dropped out. We are now nobodies again, and we will not be favourites for an immediate return either. Get used it. Barnsley on a wet November night, that's what we are. The bright lights are gone for good because we threw it all away. I always turn to Dr Seuss at times such as these: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

Liverpool or arsenal need a new keeper. I anticipate seeing him go to one of them.. but I would be overjoyed if he stayed I would love to see him stay but can't see it happening but neither can I see a top 6 club coming in for him given his slip in form last season. He won't want to harm his England chances especially if he is number 2 at the world cup. Regrettably I can see someone like West Ham trying to get him or even Villa if they are promoted.

Could we not just loan him out for the season? It could be a win, win essentially. If we get back to the prem we've got him ready to come back in. He stays in the eye of the international manager and if we don't go back up it could get us more money if he performs particularly well (See grant with Derby and us)

I think it’s a no brainier that the club will cash in on him. I will be sorry to see him go as I believe he is a very good goalkeeper but also he seems a genuine nice guy.

Why would he? Unless no one wants him. You dodn't get to be Englands N0 1 by playing in the Championship.

If you are in any doubt as to whether Butland will stay or not, there is an easy way to tell.
He won't.

I know when players leave it’s easy to ‘turn’ like fans did on Arnie when he left (I didn’t) but I actually don’t think he’s been that great this season. I’d be more than happy to see him go. He’s not as good as he is in his own head.

No chance he will stay. Jack strikes me as a typical modern footballer where money and kudos are all powerful. I don’t buy his show of emotion at the end of the season together with all his false rallying cries throughout the season either. He left the club in his mind at the start of the season.

In all honesty I think we'd rather take the money particularly after last season where he wasnt at his best. if we can get 25-30m and reinvest it's a good deal for the club.

I'm struggling to find a suitor for him but even so, cannot see him in a Stoke shirt next season.
The risk of dropping a division is way too high. In all likelihood his inability to deal with crosses will be shown up even more in the Championship.
It's a shame but I think we held on to him a year too long to get the big money deal.

I would say that it depends on his World Cup.
If he cements the No1 gersey then maybe...however, if he does that by playing a great tournament then the bids may come thick n fast!

We became everything I despise in other clubs - arrogant, cocky, dismissive of fan concerns, thinking it couldn't happen to us, blindly pretending there was no problem when there was. Never mind though, it's happened, forget it and everyone just buy your season tickets again and act like nothing's happened. We are small time and we're back where we deserve to be. What a criminal waste of the frankly fantastic foundation we had built. We will never have it so good again. "I don't know what all the fuss is about" should be Coates's epitaph.

Ok I'll say it. Butland's been very poor this past season. If other clubs want to pay silly money to take him, then we'd be mad to say no as in a year's time he'll be worth the square root of bugger all. He is simply not the keeper he was, probably since the original injury really. We have Grant, we can sign another 'keeper.

The only reason he will be with us next season.
He gets a bad injury at the W/C.

We were always a stepping stone as he's an ambitious lad
I wouldn't rule out a European team either
As long as we make money and replace him adequately I don't mind. If he hadn't broken his ankle he'd of gone way before
