When we sacked Hughes I was all for Potter. We were up shit creek and had nothing to lose. But the time to gamble is past. The Championship is a tough, tough league, and I’m much more comfortable with somebody experienced in it at the helm. Nothing to lose????, really,,,, Point taken - obviously we had our Premier League status to lose. But what I was getting at is that we were in deep shit and most regular watchers of Stoke were of the (ultimately correct) opinion that we were going down. For me that’s a much better time to gamble than when you’re heading into a new league in which you’ve got one of the biggest budgets and will be one of the favourites for promotion.

I feel sorry for him, a promising young manager. Swansea these days don't tend to give managers more than 6-12 months before they're out the door.

Be interesting to see what happens. I'm glad he's not come here - we can watch from a safe distance now and see if those who were clamouring for him were right or not.
