Bowen said Shaqiri pulled out of training on Tuesday morning in the warm-up saying his "calf had really stiffened up and he's got a slight problem there"
And Johnson had a similar injury.
"At this stage, don't know how long they'll be out but certainly tonight"
Shaqiri is a walking muscle injury, and an injury is never far away with Johnson either.

When do the club have the conversation about letting Shaqiri go, and replace him with someone a bit more robust?

When do the club have the conversation about letting Shaqiri go, and replace him with someone a bit more robust? When do we stop signing injury prone players.

When do we see the light and employ a yoga instructor and get Shaqiri doing it every day? The amount of time he's been out with calf issues is a joke.

When do we start foreseeing into the future to know what injuries players are going to have? The amount of muscle injuries this squad has had over the last 2 seasons is unprecedented. It has to be down to the training methods and lack of injury prevention exercises.

When do the club have the conversation about letting Shaqiri go, and replace him with someone a bit more robust? When do we stop signing injury prone players. When we can afford the wages of quality players that don't get injured? Assuming they'll sign for us obviously. Probably around the same time we change our name to Barcelona or Real Madrid..

Wonder what's the longest period of time Shaq's gone without a hamstring/thigh/calf strain?

We've had three years of muscle injury after muscle injury throughout the squad That's indicates that something with the training is wrong.

Wonder what's the longest period of time Shaq's gone without a hamstring/thigh/calf strain? I've almost lost patience with him. The way he's built and his explosive style of play makes him injury prone. We can never get a run of games out of him.

With our medical history under Hughes it has to be taken into account.

I think he's suggesting that that's what you've been doing Bayern. I've no problem with what you do/spend your time on but you never admit that you might be wrong, even slightly. The intractability of your positions makes you come across like a bit of a zealot at times

The intractability of your positions makes you come across like a bit of a zealot at times Nah he's just a sad little man who would rather lecture about my life (which is ace) than ignore someone he clearly thinks is a cunt. That's sad. Of course I do (see Bardsley) but if I don't think I'm wrong why would I? Grant is what he is, a good keeper with faults and those faults would mean that I hope he'd be third choice at best. That's all. I bollocked Grant 3 or 4 times last night and then gave him a standing ovartion for the save. That sums up where I am with him. I think he's vital to us currently but I think a lot of people are going ott with how good he actually is. But when you've come from a keeper who can't save a shot then that is likely to happen.

Fair enough, we'll have to agree to disagree, I think Grant has been superb, runs Bruno a close second for player of the season for me. I think he instils huge confidence in his defence, people were criticising his ability under crosses but he seems to have even improved in that area

Another punch when he could have caught it with his dick. And the punch this time was poor and landed in the 18 yard area. But the save was great. I thought this was the Lee Grant thread, that's why I replied about him (red face).

Have we really missed Jack after the introduction of Grant? I must admit I haven't! One of my boys said yesterday that Jack couldn't have done any better and I think he was right!

Certainly didn't need to be Mystic Meg to know what were going to get with Johnson - I hope he was only ever intended to be a short term solution and our wonderful transfer boys have something planned for the summer. Shaq's 'injury' problems are very much part of the package we chose to invest in. You have to hope that at some point he is enjoying his football enough to want to play through these things. As yet that doesn't seem to have happened.
