I'm a fully paid up member of the Arnie fan-club. But if I had to choose between Arnie and Matty at his best, I'd probably have to chuck a coin in the air to decide. Totally different players but I'd go for Matty every day of the week.

Like a Tampon, in for 1 week out for 4 I am no expert on these things but I am sure it's very unhygienic to leave a Tampon in for a week. Have a word with your mum.

Stoke have no threat on the right with Shaqiri injured. Stoke should have brought in another winger. Sobhi not ready and imagine if Arnie got injured.

linkXherdan Shaqiri, how is your leg? Thanks for asking. I'm on track. I have inserted an extra two days therapy in Basel and will, if all goes well, enter team training at the end of week Good news, thanks for posting. Turns out it's thanks for nothing!

Xherdan Shaqiri, however, is still nursing a calf strain that has kept him out since he scored the equaliser in the opening day draw at Middlesbrough.
Shaqiri missed Switzerland's win over Portugal this week but had been hoping to return to training today.
"Xherdan is still a little bit slow at the moment," said Hughes in an interview for Stoke's official website.
"We've tried something a little different with him this week just to push him on but he won't be available for the weekend. "
Bad news. Sod it off.

Really frustrating seems like he plays 1 and is injured for 3.
I was really excited when he signed but now I really wouldn't be bothered if we cut our losses and got rid in January and signed someone a bit more reliable.

His anyone surprised he's not fit again it's a surprise when he's fit,we could not unload him if we wanted to his valve must be down to 5million and dropping a player who does not play = no value to the team or club.

Did he manage every game for country in the euros?
Fair weather player?
Knowingly signing players with regular reoccuring injuries is stupid.

Honestly his heart is not at Stoke and it never was. Clearly came for the money. Remember the game when he subbed himself whilst the game was going on?
I was so excited when we signed him, but would prefer to move him on and play someone in the red & white that wants to be here.
Theres a good player in there but hes never going to show it consistently at Stoke.

Let him loose. Thinking Shaq is becoming a liability. I'm a fan but just not impressed overall, pound for pound.

Makes no odds how good a player is, if he's never fit, he's no fucking use. Let's not bull shit either, he's not been that great. His Stoke career really has just not got started. Disappointed he'll be missing none the less.

Talk about sticking the boot in when a man's down, great support. It's what we're good at on here. But don't worry Bony will deflect the attention off Shaq. If he doesn't score with his first touch he'll be slaughtered.

I don't consider myself to slaughter our players if they're out of form. My opinion on the Shaquiri injury is born largely out of disappointment that we can never get him on the pitch. I might not be a fucking happy clapper but I like to think I'm realistic in my outlook. Maybe not...

But you only need to look a few posts up where the usual suspects surely are slaughtering him.

Some people are pretty precious when it comes to players feelings. I don't thing too many have gone down the road of Shaqiri is shit bollocks. I see some pretty reasonable assessments to be honest.
From my point of view I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting much more. Hopefully he can sort out his niggles and become a great player for us. We spent a lot of money on him and Imbula and they haven't really repaid the investment.

Pound for pound he would be massive , personally not convinced he is the player we needed especially with the constant injury record he has.

Looks like I misjudged the situation. Seems Shaqiri is next in line for the treatment, or maybe we'll do a BOGOF with Imbula?

Some of the assessments on here overall are not too far away.
The problem is they've all been sparked again by the 'news' that he's not going to quite make it for a match that we were all aware he may well not make it for.
He played every game for Switzerland in the summer, gets back to Stoke and all of a sudden gets a strain, come on, the only factor that has changed from July to August is he is being looked after by the Stoke medical staff and not the Swiss.
He's a talented player and fair enough hasn't shown it for us yet, but people saying he'll never show is potential, or his heart isn't in it or cut our losses are just jumping the gun a bit there.
He's only been here for a year and if he's been injured as often as is making people wet themselves on here, he won't have had chance yet.
He'll come back next week instead, and hopefully not get injured lol.
