Worth considering for a solid plan B at least.

Starting Crouchy in the league now would be akin to suicide.
I love him to bits but he's had his time in the spotlight for us now I'm afraid.

I wouldn't start crouchy, but always surely worth a punt from the bench in my opinion, nobody is a more aerial threat.

What because he's netted a couple against a worse than average league 2 team?

Not sure about starting Crouch but it makes Hughes' decision not to bring him on against Boro and Man City even more baffling.

Only if Everton buy and play the Stevenage defenders before Sat.

Not as a starter and finisher but yes. Win all the records with us this season and then sell him for rice and Yuan next summer.

Not sure about him starting, but he is definitely a player I'd keep. Good character off the pitch!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes recurring! I see he has now scored a hat trick and hence is far and away our loeading scorer this season. Time to start him - class third goal

Absolutely.
Can only play whats in front of you and why would you drop a forward that has scored a hat trick? He's a big lad and he has always given us a focal point which always makes a Hughes side two dimensional.
Ideally, we'd get a younger version in the next 9 days.

Why not - he can't do any worse than Diouf and is in form.

We're too slow and ponderous, let's start Crouch.....

He scores another and you've got to start him You HAVE to start him anyway and anyone claiming otherwise is a fool. Especially with the shit we've had upfront for the first two games. Id be tempted go unchanged because of how good the team performance has been.

If he got 8 goals tonight doesnt mean he should play on saturday.....but there have been quite a few games he should have been on... with crosses that have gone in and needed his head on them

Anyone mentioned how valuable Crouchie is at defending set pieces yet?
Speculating on Radio Stoke about this being a 'shop window' scenario. Still a stayer for me.

Crouch is too slow away from home and will offer nothing when Everton have all of the possession on Saturday. It's been discussed ten million times on here.

I want him to get to 100 Premier League goals with us. All of our strikers are easily 10+ goals a season given enough starts and service.

Brilliant tonight
But unless we play like that in the PL, putting good crosses in instead of this short passing game then its a different thing all together
would be happy to keep him though if he's happy to stay, offers a plan B & along with Walters & Ryan, he's Mr Stoke City

With everton's slow but strong central defenders I think we should stick with diouf up top. But if we are looking to hoof it upfield and get the ball down to the three attackers crouchie is and will continue to be a decent option. As a regular starter though I'm not convinced.
