Sorry to say, but I reckon Hughes is mostly responsible due to his "don't lose the tie here" that someone said (If that is true it's fucking wank management), well it was most probably lost here. Why the fuck don't we go for it for once, roll the fucking dice? No, can't do that. We got off to a God awful start, which improved a bit, but was still shit, and we conceded. Second half saw an improvement, and they started time wasting, embarrassing for them. Still not enough, I don't know what was up with Bojan, but he was wank. Terrible stuff really. I'm as optimistic as the next person, but if you think we are going to turn Liverpool over 2-0 at Anfield, then you're deluded. I'd love anyone on this forum to shove this in my face after the second leg, but it won't happen. Harsh to blame Hughes as the players didn't turn up. But if he's asked the players not to lose? Nevermind go out and win. Sorry Joe.

At the weekend West Ham worked harder than them, played at their weakness – got the first goal and controlled the game. Tonight after a Klopp rocket they did the same to Stoke. Still in the balance IMO – 1-0 is hardly bad and a Hughes rocket awaits I guess. Cheers mate, your regular friendly contributions are very welcome.

You wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some on here, would you? just stating facts when it happens dude Everyone's pissed off, mate. I had a feeling we'd flop tonight, but I understand your pessimism; I just don't share it!

Think we have lulled them into a false sense of security, over to Anfield to spring the trap.
1 goal from us and we are level including away goals. Not given up hope yet.

3 hammys for Liverpool is a bit crazy. Surely a lesson here for Hughes about the need for squad rotation. Im sure he will admit he got the West Brom line-up wrong and we should have kept our first team fresher for tonight. Hopefully he is big enough to admit his mistake with the West Brom line up, it defiantly contributed to very poor and jaded performances in both games, he has a squad his squad now he needs to use it to it's maximum poor management in my opinion.

We were far too predictable from the off. Liverpool did their homework and just worked very hard to close us down. We just ran up cul-de-sacs all night. It could have been considerably worse, however we still have a mountain to climb. Yep, Liverpool simply had the measure of us tonight.

Its only half time. A draw on saturday and a win against Norwich would be great. We struggle against Pulis Klopp style managers. Our corners were brilliant tonight just no one to knock them in the onion ring.

I'll put 50 quid on it that arne, boyan and the rest come out and pretty much say the same.I.E Not good enough. not good enough - clearly true as we lost, but that's not the same as "dog shite" is it ?... yer big drama queen.... It was dog shite especially in the final third.nothing came off. As for being a drama queen,we'll see but I feel our chance has gone. Do you fancy our chances away at Liverpool? ?

Second leg. Liverpool 1 Stoke 2 (after extra time).
Stoke go through on away goals rule.
There you go.
After me. 1, 2, 3....
We're gonna win the cup, we're gonna win the cup. And now you gonna believe us, and now you gonna believe us, and now you gonna believe us. We're gonna win the cup!

The only crumb of comfort I can find is that if it was any other round we'd be out.
But our record at Anfield is appalling so I'm not optimistic.

Fucking dog shite. Piss poor Hughes and players. People like you got what they deserved tonight. Support was embarrassing. As was the performance ! maybe the two go hand in hand, wrong team selection at West Brom contributed to two losses on the trot, hopefully Hughes will turn it around in the second leg he has to use his squad to it's full effect horses for courses.

As already touched upon by a couple of posters fatigue has played some part in tonights performance...but I can't help but think it's mental fatigue rather than physical. There were toomany sloppy passes that should have been simple balls. If the guys aren't switched on mentally you can have the best talent in the world but they just aren't going cut the mustard. We're not out of this yet by a ling way but the cup tie at the weekend is the ideal chance now to rest most of the first 11 and give them a chance to recover both physically and mentally.

People like you got what they deserved tonight. Support was embarrassing. We have some so called fans who don't deserve a premiership football club. I agree. Our support at home lately is fucking embarrassing. Unless our team starts off well we are fucking dead and do nothing at all to lift our players. And to hear some people booing at the final whistle tonight? What the fuck is going through these people's heads? They want beating to a pulp and barring from games for life.

We didn't play anywhere near as good as we can do and yet we only narrowly lost and I don't think Liverpool were that much better than us really so I'm not too downbeat.
All to play for in the 2nd leg and if our players are firing all cylinders then we've got a good chance.

The only thing dog shite tonight is your support. Good effort at a fight back in the second half I thought we were unlucky in the end and just off the pace a little. Couple good signings and that second leg is ours, 1 goal deficit is nothing Who do you suggest we sign???? Who do we drop??? Do you really think we'll sign players in time for the second leg and chuck them straight in. Don't talk bollocks....
