500 minutes since conceding? Put him in nets? Lucky not to today , Ryan looked out of sorts , almost gifted them a goal

Lucky not to today , Ryan looked out of sorts , almost gifted them a goal Agree, not his best game but 500 minutes without conceding is worthy of recognition

the commentators where quick to suggest that when Ryan had a couple of little wobbles today that that was the reason he hasnt played more for England

Lucky not to today , Ryan looked out of sorts , almost gifted them a goal I completely agree with this. I didn't think Ryan had the best of games at all today, to his standards. The positive about it though was Wollscheid was there to clear up. They're forming a great partnership together and it's getting close to the Shawcross Huth standard but with better quality on the ball.

Lucky not to today , Ryan looked out of sorts , almost gifted them a goal When did he nearly gift them a goal? He passed it straight to Noble. In fairness to him, he got back and put in the tackle.

I remember the poor pass but the quite superb tackle to clean up his own error sticks out in my mind more. The last centre half I saw give the ball away so cheaply went on to tackle his own teammate as the opposition ran through unchallenged to score. That useless twat went on to captain his country despite being complete and utter shite!

It shows how far we've come though that our captain and best defender can have an off day and we still end up with another clean sheet.

He probably wasn't quite at his best today but he was still a 7 or an 8.
That's the ridiculously high standards he sets himself.

Ryan has a shocker.
And we get another clean sheet.
I'm not a genius (obviously) but that suggests to me that even a crap Ryan is more than a match for most teams.
That'll do me.

Just listened to an interview with him and the moose after today's game and he was asked about his England's chances to which he replied " I've been playing well for 2 and a half years without a sniff so I don't hold out much hope now tbh"

My west ham pal thought Shawcross was immense and forced carrol to play far too deep. If that's Ryan having a shocker, his worst still makes him the best English centre half in the country by some distance.

I didn't see much of it.....it was more a reflection of some of the posts on here. As far as I'm concerned half a Ryan is better than 99% of centre backs.

He's actually been playing well for 8 and a half years.

Still in progress to get into top form, he's still defending well and keeping the unit at the back strong. It's a process.

Is that 7 unsoiled sheets in the last 9 games? (and we were down to 10 men when we conceded in one of those) Can't be, our defence is shit...

Last again on our favourite and most beguiled footy program but what about the final comments?
Roy must eventually give in and accept he has a English Central Deffender of outstanding Abbility.

More than the match commentators that said he had lost his head in the first half on the game I watched today. Then again every Stoke challenge was a foul and every Hammers foul was harsh according to them!

Yet another unsoiled sheet today. That's about 500 minutes since Ryan came back that we haven't conceded with him on the pitch. I can't even remember the last goal we conceded with 11 men. chelskea by about three seconds until we had 10 men (cup)

Then again every Stoke challenge was a foul and every Hammers foul was harsh according to them! I was particularly riled when Jack Butland came out and smothered the ball as Carroll came running into the box, the commenter said that Carroll should "have stuck a toe out and drawn a foul. Its not cheating It's the nature of the game today" and he is entitled to do draw the foul like that. I couldn't believe my ears!!! Butland made a brave run for the ball and smothered the ball, Carroll was nowhere near him and yet they were advocating him sticking his leg out and "drawing" the foul..... That is what is what is wrong with today....

Hodgson to be offered a contract up to WC in 2018 if England do well at 2016 Euros. The FA's definition of doing well probably means getting out of the group, so Ryan can kiss goodbye to any more international caps...

I get the feeling that even if he played for a top 6 team he still wouldn't get a sniff. Therefore no need to move. England's loss our gain

Since then, it appears that every cunt who has a Stoke player even breathe near him is urged by the pundits to "draw the foul and go down" or we get told "that was a foul, even with no contact".... It makes my piss boil. I blame that sack of shit, Garry Monk who just got sacked, he's a fucking fat gobbed hypocrite an'all. Cunts, the lot of 'em !!

The only thing worse is doing invisible quote marks in the air with his fingers*- if he ever did that we should sell him. * to be fair if it was a radio interview then we will never know if he did that - unless someone asks the Moose.

On the stream i watched, which I'm sure was the same as most other people watched. The commentators were, some guy who doesn't know anything doing the play-by-play and Tony Gale. Unbiased Tony Gale. No vested interest in either side he's watching Tony Gale. I wonder which team Tony made over 300 appearances for? Don't tell me....West Brom? No, is it Pork? Bacon? Sausages? HAM! That's it. TONY!! Your bias is showing mate, put it away! Was he the co-commentator on the Sky match choice game? What a throbber he was. It sounded like Tony Gale. Totally biased. He should be ashamed.
