Indeed its a great record. But I have to say he looked a bit shaky today by his standards. We have been very solid at the back didn't think we were today though, Jack had lots to do.

Ryan wasn't actually at his best today IMO.
Thought Big Phil was solid though. We are also stronger defensively with Geoff in midfield. Never been a big fan of either of those two, but they have done quite well of late.

Only listened to the game lads so can't comment on his performance but like you say the whole defence deserves great credit

Yet another unsoiled sheet today. That's about 500 minutes since Ryan came back that we haven't conceded with him on the pitch. I can't even remember the last goal we conceded with 11 men. no its 497 minutes ,get it right March

With Shawcross on the pitch and no goals conceded, fantastic record and well done to the rest of the defence also. Do we not count stoppage time?

Some unfair comments on Ryan IMO. He wasn't at his best but he really had his hands full today are in the end came out better than Carroll who was on his game today.
Wolly just keeps getting better, Pieters was a bit off today but didn't spoil his record, while Johnson IMO is defending as well as he as ever done and has proved me totally wrong.
Another reason for our good defending is Arni, who keeps helping out very effectively.

Clearly targeted today by that which is named Carol. A stray arm across Carols chest and the wimp goes down holding his face.....what a cheat.
Ryan needs to learn that he will be targeted in this way and react the same way that he did against Costa, which was excellent.

No, he was playing his first match in the Premier League in only his second season of first team football, up against Kevin Davies. He was no worse than the rest of the team that match.

ShawX gave Wolly a right shove in the back when Antonio got in behind him.
Ever likely Wolly is on form, it looked like Ryan was gonna twat him.

Ryan needs to learn that he will be targeted in this way and react the same way that he did against Costa, which was excellent. Thought it was a good old-fashioned battle between Carrol and Ryan myself. When Carrol went down holding his face he had been caught by Ryan's arm - accidentally, as the ref correctly adjudged. Ironically enough, a couple of minutes earlier Ryan had (looked deliberately) pushed his hand in Carrol's face, but as he (Carrol) had kept the ball he played on, and the ref either ignored it or didn't see it.

Is that 7 unsoiled sheets in the last 9 games?
(and we were down to 10 men when we conceded in one of those)
