To me this is a 50:50 game today, it really could go either way with most likely result a bore draw 0-0.
Higgy raised similar doubts last season which were unfounded but we are still yet to recover from the loss of Znonzi & Shawcross at the same time.
Thats just a fact and Hughes is yet to show he has solved the current problems. Hopefully we see today

Not for the first time mark Hughes called it spot on in his press conference. Our current manager is a class act And his counterpart couldn't muster up the front to acknowledge the job he's done here in a short timeframe. And people want to stand and applaud this man. Except he wasn't asked the question. He was asked some weird question about it being 4-4 in matches against Hughes and the usual pansy pissy knickers went wild.

Tazi and Stafford could hardly hold back their glee after the Palace game. H Where are those boys? Wonder if they'll make an appearance tonight? We can always find Stokelad all over WestBrom.com getting slated for caring more about Pulis than his own club!

It's not a pissy knickers thing but why won't he do it Sheiky? Hughes is happy to give him credit. Pulis is happy to give other managers credit...

Talk's cheap He shakes hands with Wenger mate. Good to see you accept he's out of order on this one though. I don't see the difference between Hughes describing Stoke as a 'failing' club under Pulis and Pulis saying that most of the better performing players were his signings at the time of the last match. Unless you're a bit of a pissy knickers with a massive agenda of course

Would you praise your ex gf's new boyfriend after shes just binned you off for him?
Pulis believes he was the right man for the job & rightly or wrongly so he should do.

I think Higgy is correct. We have a poor back four which aren't being protected by a lightweight midfield. Mr Pulis will be licking his lips at this one. I fear another doze of reality for our over-hyped team today.

Class act. Any chance you could have a stab at why Pulis won't do likewise?

Where are those boys? Wonder if they'll make an appearance tonight? Tazi is banned mate He texts me on occasions but doesn't reply back so I'm not sure if he's receiving them He hasn't changed his stance one iota ( smiley ) Tazi nit received any replys but sends best to you all. He says to tell ya we got away with yet more shocking defending at Spurs because before we got one spyrs could have had five or six and asks what the fuck was that all about at Norwich too. He was there against liverpool and that hughes only brought wollscheid on due to liverpool just banging it high an long which suited him and is a complete waste if cash. Last thing he says is that we look great and knocking it sideways, backwards etc then doing nowt with it but agrees with pugsley that we now have top class coaches at the club and that why we look great as said above. Pulis remains king he says but i think hes deluded.

Some people seem to wish we still had Dean Whitehead in the middle and four centre halves across the back four.

Hughes was a (unfathomably) unpopular appointment following a highly successful manager and 'played the game'. There's still no mileage in him being anything other complimentary about a manager that most non mental fans and his boss massively respects. Pulis is not bound by any sort of convention. Hughes and Pulis both massively dislike each other as evidenced in the picture above where Hughes can't even bring himself to make eye contact.

Bringing it back to football, Tazi is right about one thing, after a pleasing solid defensive display against Liverpool, we could have had no complaints whatsoever if we'd conceded a dozen goals in the two games since.

We all know why Pulis won't give him any credit but it's still an uncharacteristically small attitude of his to take. All he has to say is that Hughes has done a good job here but he won't. It's no big deal but it is fairly pathetic.

Some people seem to wish we still had Dean Whitehead in the middle and four centre halves across the back four. All joking a side I think we need somebody with the energy of Whitehead - massively overran against Norwich last week in an almost non-existent midfield and I would not class Norwich as Bayern Munich either, although we did a good job of making them look like them. For me has to play Wolly in defence and throw Cameron in midfield to give us a bit of energy and Wolly for at least some aerial presence, if not for his ability. Same back four as Norwich will end with us conceeding a few today and leave us needing to bang in a few at the other end to get some sort of result. I dont want four centre halves, but just 1 who is competitive, tall has presence and good aerial ability, before the window closes.

Pulls raised Stoke up 30 odd places. Hughes has raised Stoke 3 or 4 places.
Hughes has not done any better in the cup competitions and hasn't for the club into Europe.
So if Pulis only considers it an okay job why should he lie and say it's good? Or are you just picking fault regardless as momo suggests?

We all know that TP sets up a solid defence. I think they will be looking to spend the match defending but they will counter attack. It's the Pulis way!

By that logic whoever got Chelsea promoted in the 80s was a better manager than Mourinho. If he 'only' raised Stoke a few piddling little places (to their best league finishes in 40 years) why did that piss easy feat prove beyond Pulis? Only a churlish weapon would think Hughes hadn't done an excellent job here. On an unrelated note, nice to have you back Stokelad.

I'm from Fenton, not Stoke I'm not saying Hughes has not done a good job. I'm giving you an alternative opinion to why Pulis may not consider it a good job. There are managers all over the country who don't come out with your opinion in press conferences and interviews.

Pulis is complimentary about pretty much all other managers yet studiously avoids having anything positive to say about Hughes even when asked about him. It's probably human nature but it's a bit of a shame. I think he knows Hughes has done a good job here because he's got eyes and isn't an idiot.

On the other hand only a churlish weapon could suggest Pulis didn't do an amazing job at Stoke.
There's plenty on this board that don't have the grace to accept that either.
Lets be honest - there is absolutely nothing Pulis could ever say that would not be attacked by the haters on here. Their positions are too entrenched to allow any fair play in any circumstances. If people are determined to find an angle for criticism they will do.

I'm also delighted we've progressed and improved in pretty much every way without him as well.

Im sure many people will be pissed off if we lose and dont play well but thats just normal post match stuff , then you look at the big picture and realise its ok , just a period of change and adjustment , we havve the type of squad now that could lose today and win at Arsenal . I dont think anyone will be happy for us losing to TP , I remember going to Palace when he beat us and feeling really pissed off because we lost and did not play that well
