So he thinks Walters must play in these types of games, at home against a 10 men parked in the box. He has also said in the past that Walters should start away from home because he offers something defensively. I'd love to know when the "right game" is to play Shaqiri.

If TP was the master of setting teams up defensively how come we never got a point at Old Trafford, Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal when he was our manager and took some heavy beatings on the way!

Cameron Adam Walters all needed I suspect Higginbottom is repeating stuff he as heard from ex colleges on " fight " with last seasons team i would be very confident this one looks very unbalanced and i really fear the worst tomorrow which would make for a truly awful start . Wow, unlike you to be negative Benji.

Like him or not, he is a Manure fan at heart! We will be right up for this one. Get em on the back foot early on, this is what Hughsie will want, but we need to convert our chances and not cock them up! I for one cannot bear the thought of losing this one, and if we do, I will be unbearable for a week at least!

We can't for a second pretend there is no concern about our team losing the physical strength that all teams require to display their footballing skills.
TP will have been planning and plotting tomorrow's game for months. West Brom's entire pre-season will have been geared up to it.
Anyone thinking it is just another game is going to be in for a shock tomorrow. Let's hope the ref is prepared, because it will be juicy for the first 10 mins or so. Let's hope our players are prepared, we don't want anyone moaning to the dugouts after 5 mins wanting to come off (although we love it when that happens to Arsenal and Spurs).

Our season doesn't hinge on tomorrow. We've had all this bollocks from Higginbotham for the past two seasons around this time. The season is 38 games long and the team have proved him wrong on both occasions. I don't remember him questioning the team's fight three seasons ago as we were diving headlong towards a relegation battle with some utterly feeble performances. The man is boring the arse off me to be honest.

Ek He has a very valid point imo also on this seasons squad/team.Tomorrow will give us a real test on the physical side of the game and i just hope the players are up for it because for me its a very important game which could set our season up on the right path.

Just heard the actual match preview a minute ago and it was a perfectly reasonable assessment of our position. We are a leaky (don't give me that bullshit about goal conceded we're poor at the back) , occasionally superb counter attacking team and I suspect like last season our record against poor teams will be poor and against the better teams will be better.

Odd, he normally makes a reasonable pundit.
Anyway, West Brom could well win tomorrow. There's also a very good chance that we'll win. There's an even better chance that it'll finish 0-0. Probably 1-0 either way.

After watching Higgy's 'punditry' on Tuesday night I predict he will be looking for a new job after Christmas. Fairly decent on talksport at the minute. Clearly favours the defensive arts of the game but what's wrong with that? A lot more knowledgeable than a few I hear on that rancid station but of course he's committed the ultimate crime now hasn't he?

Nothing wrong with Higgy for me,always comes across as a decent bloke but all of a sudden he's the anti christ. It's not only Pulis now but his former players as well, very sad.

Bunch of platitudes, cast in the same mould as Michael Owen. Wallpaper for the football watching public. Only thing that's interesting about him is can you actually see light through those ears.

Like him or not, he's a completely different type of pundit than Owen. I think he's open to some accusations that his views are a little old school but he at least has a proper view unlike Owen and the like.

It's almost as if these former professionals are embarrassed to have "played for Stoke under pulls" on their CV so stick it to the club every chance they can get

To be honest mate the stuff they were chatting about after the match preview wasn't all that bad. I listened to it. He wasn't screaming STOKE HAVE NO HEART down the airwaves. He was talking about having a team full of skill but losing your grafters, on about the balance that makes it tick and thought we were losing that which it was why it was essential to keep the likes of walters and whelan. The guy has an opinion, he talks fondly of stoke. I don't get the hate.
