I thought he played excellent because he didn't have to worry about covering other players positions. The back four were pretty solid today. Pieters looked great got back and defended well wasn't caught out of position. Bardsley mainly was great for wollsheid because like pieters he was solid and wollsheid didn't need to be out of position trying to cover for him.

He's a great player and I hope he's here for a long time. Played very well today, again.

Excellent turn around yesterday.
Everyone keeps criticizing his speed; Question; Is he so slow, or is it that he fails to react quickly enough to situations developing due to his lack of Prem. experience?
Question 2. Is there anything that can be done to increase his speed or is he "stuck with what he's got"?

If sparky signs this clown then I think he needs shooting. Absolutely laughable his performance was. We are desperate to get Shawcross back in my opinion. We miss his comanding presence and aerial threat. I never seen our defence so weak in the air. Send Wollscheid back to Bayer now! I'd rather have wilko as cover. Bet you feel a right dick head after yesterdays performance. Nothing like shooting from the hip after we lose a couple of games.

@ mrcoke
Wollscheid is known to be not fast enough for high defending. That's why bayer lost interest. Apart from that, he is outstanding. Defenders tend to look woeful if the team does not work.
Speed on a certain level you have or have not.

This thread is the perfect example (along with any thread regarding Diouf) of how many drama queens we have supporting this great club. The people who have common sense (I like to think I'm one of them) know players have good and bad games, shit happens, instead of moaning about it we should just get behind the players and stay calm, you know, a bit like the manager who knows the players better than anyone else.

The Wolly mammoth doesent have the speed, and will get beaten if we play high agasint a pacey team.
But that is why you pick your tactics based on the players available, and not make players perform a role they are not capable of ( the old square peg round hole analogy fits *** here *** )
He played very well on saturday, and hopefully will continue to do so

If you read the game as well as this lad you don't need to be Linford Christie. Shawcross and Muni aren't speedsters either. I like the way he brings the ball out and looks for a pass and doesn't just hoof it. I would sign him in the summer.

Was really thrilled to see him play that well again, but I must admit I'm still a bit concerned about his pace. Without doubt a decent footballer though! Thought Huth played very well for Leicester too on Sunday! Didn't look unfit at all!

They did their homework on him, simple. He's played enough here now to watch videos of him and get enough on him to turn him inside out, I wouldn't slate him but he's not good enough. If I'm wrong I'll publicly boil my own bollocks. Shall I put the kettle on then !!!!!!

Not a good looking thread title this one right now, is it ?
young lad 24 years ols -bold enough to try his hand in a different country in the hardest league in the world - Literally 'lands running' and then has a couple of dodgy games then, comes out and plays decent again.
5 games is it ?
hope the lad doesnt get to see this myself
poor - in a word

The guy has played for his country for goodness sake, the #1 ranked in the world. How many England players could get into the German national side? How many games did Bojan need to settle in? Arni took half a season to get going. I really like Wolly's attitude; he seem s very positive and "up for it". Yes he has had a couple of "mares", but so have some of those around him.
