Ordered two tickets for tomorrow on line last night for me and Mrs Didn't choose my regular seat, but a different one. As she has a club membership card, her seat is loaded onto that card, but even though I have a S/T card, they don't load the seat onto my card, I have to go to the office and collect my 'paper ticket'!!!!!!! WTF? I thought this card system was supposed to make this stuff easier - why can't they just load my new 'ticket' onto my card???

Had the same, luckily did it Monday so had paper tickets in post yesterday
Ordered my nephews later as linked account and he had to collect. Bizarre
Why they couldn't be loaded to our season ticket cards was beyond me, surely they would know which game the bar code was valid for

Nothing is loaded to the card, the card is just a barcode that the scanner reads and then looks at your account.

Had this confusion for the Man Utd cup game. As our season tickets are in the South Stand, we had to relocate. I bought the tickets online and received a confirmation email saying the tickets had been loaded onto the season cards. When we tried to go through the turnstile, we were told "access denied" and had to go to the ticket office. We then had to queue in the pouring rain to be patronised by one of the ticket office staff who would not believe the email had said our season cards would get us in (I double checked - it did state that)
As I had also purchased tickets for tomorrow's game, I payed another visit to the ticket office before the Villa game to clarify the situation. The upshot is that if you purchase your normal season ticket seat, it will be on your card, but if you are a season ticket holder who relocates you will need to collect a paper ticket.

Didn't they say if you weren't sitting in your season ticket seat you would get a paper ticket. In the e mail receipt yesterday it said ... Key MC = Ticket is loaded to the Clubcard SC = Ticket is loaded to the Season Card BC = Ticket is a barcoded paper ticket (Not Card) *If you see a MC or SC next to your seat, then the ticket has now loaded to your Access Card. Please bring the card and this receipt with you to the game But sadly there was no code of any sort on the e mail. Then at 4.30pm today cam another e mail saying ... Stoke City Football Club would like to remind Season Ticket Holders who have purchased their normal Season Ticket Seat for this game will have the fixture loaded onto their Season Card while Season Ticket Holders who have purchased seats elsewhere in the stadium for this game will have been sent a paper ticket or it will be made available for collection prior to kick off. What a 'fish up in a brewery'!

They can load me some 'brownie points' when I buy stuff at the club shop, so, it ought to be simple to associate my card with a seat purchase. It works on a normal match day - read bar code, I go to my allocated seat ... why not tomorrow with a different seat???

This sounds like an absolute Vauxhall Disastra. I wasn't sure I could make tomorrow but now I can and I'm worried I'm going to get fucked about, I doubt my season ticket seat will be available. Oh well, here goes nothing. Wish me luck guys.

I had to phone the Ticket Office today, due to making an error when purchasing tomorrow's tickets and erroneously buying one for the wrong friends and family member and discovered the following :
The ticketing system has been "authorising" seats onto Season Ticket cards, whether or not you're sitting in your Season Ticket seat; this is apparently against what should happen !
The system should only allow you to buy and load your Season Ticket seat onto your Season Ticket card.
If you buy any other seat in the stadium, it should issue a paper ticket for that seat.
I guess it's an improvement over carrying around a separate purchase receipt, if the system works; the problem is that the system has thrown a wobbly and allowed any seat purchase to be authorised onto the purchaser's card(s).
That's not to say that you won't gain entry tomorrow, but if you've bought any other seat than your Season Ticket seat, you should go to the Ticket Office (or Satellite Ticket Office on matchdays) and collect a paper ticket.
I guess, as in the case of ticket upgrades, that they have "blocked" entry for that Season Ticket card as the seat printed on that card may have been sold to someone else (holding a paper ticket for that seat).
Hope this makes sense and is of some help ?

Not one single mention of needing to get a paper ticket and on my receipt / invoice it says £15:00 and it has a little picture and says season card??? WTF! Same here mate and to add to it they've sent me an email telling me that I should have one of the following stamped next to my seat number: "Key MC = Ticket is loaded to the Clubcard SC = Ticket is loaded to the Season Card BC = Ticket is a barcoded paper ticket (Not Card) *If you see a MC or SC next to your seat, then the ticket has now loaded to your Access Card. Please bring the card and this receipt with you to the game. First time Non UK ticket purchases will have to collect the card from the Stadium as we do not post Clubcards overseas. For ticketing FAQ's click here" I don't have any of those stamped next to my seat number that i've purchased. Too add onto that i've received another email that contains the following: ".....Collections are available from the Main Ticket Office until 1:00pm on the day of the game, after this time they will be at the Satellite Ticket Office, which is situated outside the Novus Stand. If you have not received your ticket through the post and have not made arrangements for collection then please contact the ticket office on 01782 367599." Guess what? It didn't say to deliver or collect when I purchased it!?

Good idea to have a club card as well as your season ticket IF you want to sit in another seat other than your regular season ticket allocation
(to sit with other friends or in case you have to move when more away fans are allocated to your regular seat.)
We will get used to the system, especially if we get a good Cup run, as more fans will want to come along

1. YOUR CARD HAS YOUR SEAT NUMBER STAND AND ROW NUMBER.You are not in thst seat so it will not work for that day I *never* sit in my 'correct' seat as given on my card - we are a group of 8, we sit wherever we decide in our group. I could quite easily present my e mail that me and Mrs have to identify my correct seat J 2.They have sent you a ticket FREE POSTAGE Nope - they e mailed me at 4.30pm the day before the game to inform me - I live in Shropshire, it's not a 5 minute drive J I give up WE CAN ALL WORK IT OUT WHY NOT YOU I can certainly 'work it out' but it just seems a complex way of doing a reasonably simple job

I was a bit worried after postie came this morning and no ticket delivered as I didn't have a code on the receipt, but got the e-mail at 4.30 to confirm what was happening, glad I changed my contact e-mail from work to a home one at the beginning of the season otherwise I would have missed it. We seem to make what could be an easy operation very hard, if banking transactions or warehouse picking are almost instant, surely we could do the same with a barcode identification system
