Not brilliant but looks a competent player. Certainly seems to be able to pass, is that the problem?

Thought we looked a lot worse when he went off.
Best midfielder today.

A key reason we did well in the 1st half was that we had two players in centre midfield able to pass the sodding ball. Pulis will never in a million years play Palacios and Arismendi in a league game but if Arismendi is good enough to start at Valencia then I will be very disappointed if he is consigned to the wilderness again. He deserves some game time on that display.

He looked good, I was pleased with him. Palacios was pretty decent too.

We have fantastic players at stoke, yet they're either not used correctly or not used at all.

Looks a really combative prospect. I'd like to see a lot more of him in our side.

I thought Palacios was a bit poor but I was mightily impressed with Diego something ive noticed about Palacios is you see glimpses of what he can do i.e the ball to Jones and the breaking into the box now and then....but then he just decides to stop bothering i think we all know he is a great player but just not showing it

Arismendi was really the only player for Stoke who is not a regular ,but showed everyone he could become one given the chance

Not brilliant but looks a competent player. Certainly seems to be able to pass, is that the problem? I can only imagine it's one or all of.... a) he's not in Tony's Clique b) there are players in CM that are in Tony's Clique c) he's as good, if not better, with the ball, and not only good without the ball, filling holes plugging gaps etc d) he can't kick it as far as our 'bestest hoofers' e) he made a racket once in his flat and it got back to TP.

you only had to look at his face went he was taken off ,I thought he was going to which was He had a look of 'What the f**k do I have to do to please this manager' He looked resigned to the fact that he will never get a proper look in with this manager and his favourites

I honestly think Arismendi's first half was the best I've ever seen from one of our central midfielders this season. Great ability to cut-off players, good passer, faster with the ball than both Whelan and Whitehead, great ball-winner and so on.
I'd really like to see him against Swansea, but maybe he'll be too tired to play that soon?

Arismendi will get his chance when Rafael Benitez is in charge, which could be quite soon.

But for there match fitness Arismendi and Palacios looked the 2 best midfielders at the club tonight and have so much more to there game than Whitehead. Theres more to football than just running about aimlessly

I couldn't believe he ran forward with the football has this ever happened under Pulis? A midfielder running forward, instead of passing it sideways, backwards or aimlessly hoofing it. I thought he was MOTM anyway.

When he was with Barnsley he by all accounts had some great games and then faded out and often didn't make their first team. He deserves a run in the side but I wouldn't get too excited yet.

Both him and palacios played very well and forced the ball forward creating chances, as soon as they went off it killed the game and we got camped inside our own half. Wrong decision to take them off in my opinion.

Obviously too much of a footballer for The Great One.
What I would give for that type of performance from a midfielder on a regular basis.
He wasn't a happy bunny being replaced...and who can blame him
He just doen't fit in with TP's toss and dross, lump it and hope system.

I was impressed with Diego and Palacios but I think the pace of the game suited them better.
Think this is why we haven't seen much of Arismendi - he's hardly pulled up any trees on loan has he? But he's always done well in the slower European games when I've seen him.
The same is true of Palacios. Palacios' fitness is a mystery - perhaps he will never be fit enough to play a full game for us, but hopefully he will play more of a part next season.

When he stops passing to his own players, stops going forward, starts to hoof it,Pulis will have him in the first 11 like a shot.

He is a totally different character today compared to the boy who was on loan. Works very hard and concentrates on his football now.

Really impressed with Arismendi tonight.
I thought he was strong in the tackle, played short simple passes and was quite comfortable with the ball at his feet (as the run showed when he was fouled).
He has shown more tonight than Whelan, Whitehead and Delap have in the past half dozen games.
Surely Pulis has to reward his performance tonight with a place in the squad on Saturday. Otherwise it is completely pointless having a competive squad, especially if you only play your favourites.
Diego showed exactly how to play in a stoke midfield. Keep it simple, keep a calm and cool head, but also be competive and strong.
Man of the match for me. Well played lad.
