Feel sorry for the poor old lad for suggesting Valencia were playing moderately and he was spot on. lets face it they wereinsecond gear at best and that cock Acres reckons they were fuckin ace tonight. we didnt get anywhere near them for most of the game and our ball retention was again on a par with a still pissed up shit sunday league team. Then onto the usual Acres arse tonguing specialists agreeing with his every word. we wouldnt have scored if we played til midnight! As for what our players do in training, we must work very hard at being so shit at ball retention its becoming embarrassing now.

Yeah the guy was right, valencia didn't play fantastic, had they played fantastic we'd have been down at least 2-0. Couldn't help thinking they were being unnecessarily dismissive of the poor old codger.

Don't forget Valencia rested their keeper, captain and top goal scorer.

Agree, Harry was not far off the mark. For me Valencia were barely any better than any of the other teams that have visited the Brit this season. Acres is just so far up the clubs arse because he's terrified of being exiled to the Vale again. With his stooge Brammer backing him up at every turn. Disgusting!!!

If were being honest where would Valencia finish in the Prem, 7th? 8th?
They are no better than the teams we play every other week.

I don't know about that mark, they embarrassed us technically in the first half. The difference in quality against our total lack of ability to retain any sort of possession was shameful. I described their movement as like a speedboat compared to us who changed direction like an oil tanker. I was much more encouraged in the second half but there isn't a shred of creativity in the team at the moment and with the money we've spent it needs looking at.

Agree with all that, JSU.
I thought Valencia were absolutely outstanding for the last 40 minutes of the first half - one of the best halves I've seen from an opposition since we've been in the Prem. I didn't think they'd be that good, especially with their supposed star striker not playing.
Definitely more encouraging second half, but I never thought we'd score if we were still playing now.
Disappointing that we couldn't really lay a glove on them. I really fear we'll get caned out there next week

Harry I think his name was, well what ever his name was he was absolutely spot on!!! •Stoke were 2 yards off the pace! •When we do play with 2 wingers it makes our non existent central midfield even more wide open and gives there player more space! • They were moderate! By there standards they probably were, they made a few changes and I think tonight could of been a lot worse! My opinion is when a team comes to the Brit for a game of passion and effort then we'll dick em, while they come to play FOOTBALL were fuck cause we don't play any! Harry also mentioned back room staff, I think he meant coaches! To be honest I like know what they do or coach our players cause, •pass & move •play to feet •triangles I don't think are on the agenda!!! I really am on the fence, I don't want to slag my team off and be negative but the truth is we're playing absolutely dog shit!!! We fared much better in the 2nd half until a combination of them spoiling the game and the referee completely losing the plot took the wind out of our sails. First half there was a massive gulf in quality. Ball retention was embarrassing but I think to say they arent better than teams we play every other week is going over the top a bit! Class team. What was up with Begovic?! Christ, he was making me nervous let alone the defence. Countless balls he should have come for and he never left his line after the cross he dropped.

Im sorry but who does John Acres think he is ? Harry rings up - sounds like an elederly supporter , season ticket holder - probably been watching Stoke longer than most of us offers his opinion.
Harry is very negative granted - half the time Acres puts him into a corner and harry bless him probably cannot articulate as well as he probably would like. The vibe is though as a regular he is not happy with recent performances.
Yes Valencia are a quality side, street wise and better than us. However we have players who are one paced throughout the side and arguably better players on the subs bench. Im not having a go at TP here because im still behind him but recent displays entitle the paying supporter to be critical. But TP and his back room staff have brought these players in and ultimately the Manager is responsible for good times and bad.
For John Acres to patronise like he did on the radio was out of order and for me lacked class. Also the callers after were clearly taken in by the spin and decided to kiss his arse.
John if your reading this - just remember people are allowed to have a different view to you. If they want to come on and be critical fine thats up to them, but don't try and be a complete smart arse when you don't agree. You are supposed to be impartial are you not ? and encourage alterntaive opinion.
You came across as a right patronising, self righteous twat.

BBC radio stoke will always argue against you if you say anything negative or bad about the club, hence why they always are so bottleless in there press conferences after the games.

Totally agree, and for my money, everything HArry was saying was pretty much what me and my mates have been saying for weeks!! Acres was a disgrace, anything Harry put to Acres that was mildly against Stoke was shot down without a proper response.
Well done Harry, you said it like it is!!

Acres crossed Pulis last year, he has served his punishment and won't do it again. Same as mumbling mick, anything other than happy clapping will see you banished up the Vale.

I tell you there are a lot of stoke supporters starting to wonder what 50 million quid + has been spent on not just Harry.
We haven't played well for a long time now and it's has to be said.
We haven't got the central midfield personnel who could possibly change our fortunes which is truly shameful of pulis after the full seasons in the premier league.

Radio Stoke are a fuckin disgrace at times. When was the last time Nige delivered a cutting edge interview? When was the first time for that matter? As for Acres, he's totally patronising, claims to have no agenda but come on, I reckon he's TP's love child, he just wont countenance any criticism at all. Its ridiculous!

He's supposed to be an unbiased BBC journalist. He's paid for by us not the fucking football club. The way he dismissed the kid at the end who said Jerome should be playing instead of Walters was also pretty shitty.
Served his time watching Port Vale for daring to voice has actual opinion so is back to being a lap dog.
Also couldn't believe the number of happy clappers on as ever arguing that the fans are demanding the fabled next level. I'm not, just something decent to watch.

I think he's a competent enough broadcaster, but he's been letting himself down badly recently.
Ever since Pulis' ridiculous overreaction, and subsequent minor fallout after the Liverpool away game last season, he's been like an attack dog foaming at the mouth when anyone dares to offer any criticism of the status quo.

It doesn't really matter what Harry's views were; he was treated disgracefully by a very smug and rather vindictive Acres. And didn't all the happy clappers who were encouraged to come on afterwards to poke fun at him enjoy it! I was tempted to ring in; which is something I have never done, simply to complain about the treatment of Harry. And if Acres had bothered to listen; Harry wasn't only talking about tonight, he was talking about our recent performances and whether you agreed with every point he made or not, he made some valid ones. I know that they are third in their league and a much better side than us - but if you hadn't known that, I'm not sure you would have described their performance tonight as much better than "moderate" and we were off the pace and second to most balls. Still, roll on the obvious intellectuals who phoned in afterwards to assure us all that the tie is still open and "The Potters and TP" will sort them out in Spain. I would have cried if it wasn't so funny!

Yeah sorry JSU, i didn't make my point well. Valencia looked very good against us tonight but if they played 38 games in the prem I think they would finish about 7th give or take a place. We were our usual selves, lacking pace, technical ability, creativity and generalfootballing ability. There goal keeper could pas the ball better than anyone in our team. Pulis has sucked the life out of the team that finished last season. The only players that are playing anything like their best are Shawcross and Wilko.
