Bruce loves to sign centre backs, but with Turner, Mensah, and Bramble here already, I can't see Bruce being willing to pay what it would be required to get Shawcross.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that when Ryan goes, it'll be to one of the big boys.

To be fair, Bent and Henderson have both been capped while up here, whilst Shawcross and Etherington have been largely, and wrongly imo, ignored. Even Michael Turner is ahead of Shawcross in the England reckoning.

While I'm on a sunderland thread, what have your impressions of Onouha been so far, 'Land fans? And is it looking like you'll get him on a permo? And do the sunderland fans also nickname him "ask nedum"?

captain what is going on with andy ried at sunderland Reid is at Sheffield United atm on loan. Out of contract at the end of the season and Bruce seeimingly has no plans to renew it. He is just killing time in the CCC before becoming a free agent in the summer I think. No chance of him staying at Sunderland. Bruce simply doesn't want him, probably because he doesn't feel like he can rely on him.

And do the sunderland fans also nickname him "ask nedum"? The general opinion of Onuoha up here is that he is a very good player and one we'd like to keep permenently. He has had a couple of shockers, it has to be said, but overall his contribution has been excellent. He has said he wants to stay too, but all depends on Man City really. Dunno about any nicknames, like.

Id take £10 million for Ryan along with that Arab guy, he always looks pretty handy If Sunderland are feeling particularly generous they can throw Bent in that deal as well.

cheers, sounds a good player for the likes of sunderland or stoke but nothing out of the ordinary for citeh then
Man city players apparently used to go to Onouha whenever they had some sort of question they couldn't answer because he has a full set GCSE's, thus pretty much being Saul Bellow and Steven Hawking rolled into one compared to the rest of them, therefore was nicknamed "Ask Nedum".

If you are refering to Ahmed Elmohamedy, I am affraid he isn't ours to give. We just have him on loan.

He's not been as bad as people are making out imo, he was shite against Blackpool but hes been ok otherwise, he was very good at Wigan

what hieght is he? 6ft plus? And i carnt remember him consitantly winning a ball in the air,and his goal scoring record has died off,and he has also failed to control and pick a pass with the ball.
Not bad hey pick?

Bent said nothing about you to the press. It was on Twitter, and the press just reported it. I still think Stoke took that too personally. All he said was he didn't want to sign for Stoke but you have to remember he had made up his mind to come to Sunderland long before any deal was able to be made formal. If Sunderland wanted Darren Bent, there was only one place he wanted to go. Jones goes off the boil 2 or 3 times every single season. Just the nature of the player. Consistency and urgency just aren't his kind of things.

Not bad hey pick? Well he does consistently win the ball in the air for starters, and has played a part in five of the last eight goals we scored. His partnership with Fuller coincided with our best run of form in the season. So yeah, I'd say that indeed "wasn't bad".

Not bad hey pick? Even at his brilliant best hes never really going to run his socks off but, Blackpool aside, he has played to a good standard for us this season but just needs a goal to get his confidence back and get back to his form at the start of the season. I think £8M was an absolute snip for him and he'll prove to be worth quite a bit more.
