Some disgraceful comments on here. Pericard was like Drogba, but never really got the chance.
Lethal Keith Scott for me.

Des Backos ,simply for the fact we had good players all around him , then mr Tudor in all honesty it would be easier to do a list of good strikers im sure bad ones out number the good to decent ones by five to one ,bare this in mind if osgood would of come i believe we would of won the league.

The player who had me consistently pulling my hair out, over the longest period, is Carruthers.
Pericard was just a short-lived joke.
But for sheer, feckless incompetence, there can be only one - Scott.

don't knock david herd's record he scored very vital goals in 1968/9 in 2-1 or 1-0 wins that probably kept us up

Talk of Gifton, Sidibe or even Kyle on this list are ridiculous! We are talking THE worst striker, not mediocre strikers who never quite did it for us. Worst as in couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, worst as in looked totally disinterested when playing for Stoke City, worst as in had a terrible attitude, worst as in cost us a decent amount of money and proved very quickly that we had been completely ripped off. Those 3 each fail on one or two counts. gudjonson ?

Not sure if its already been mentioned but Martin Carruthers? I was young at the time he was here but I still know he had a reputation for being god awful.

It took a while for somebody to mention Simon Stainrod but can just about forgive him for that sublime overhead kick that won us that game at Walsall and his super diving header at Birmingham. Other than that though, hopeless!!!
Can't believe Graham Shaw got a mention, we all feared the worst after Bertie left in the Champ winning season in 92-93 but he came in more than played his part, chipped in with a few goals to compliment Steino but it was his clever play that really did it for us.

What about the jolly policeman that everyone on here was begging the club to bring over? I think he scored 3 times in a friendly/reserve match in 20 minutes on the field and then never even looked the part again for the rest of his short lived career.
Ole Albrigtsen. I think he was Norways record breaking goalscoring sensation at the time.
;D
Des Backos (was there a c in his name?) Played for Highlands Park (SA's version of Man Utd) and Jewish Guild (SA's version of Wigan). He really was considered to be SA's George Best! ;D
