I can not believe people have nominated Gifton. I think we've had worse since.
Keith Scott has to be up there. John Tudor was shite, apart from his first game which was brilliant and raised expectations that we had signed a footballer and not an old man.
The winner has to be Vincent. I have honestly never seen worse.

Ok I'll take your Bamber, Caruthers, Ellis and Pericards and raise you an O'neil Donaldson and a Davide Xausa.
Surely they cant be beaten!

No mention for Martin 'one on one' Carruthers?
Surely no striker in the history of the game has found it so beyond them to score when they only had the keeper to beat.

When did Des Backos play for us? He must have been really shite! George Eastham brought him from South Africa, describing him as the new Pele. He put him straight into the first team (Cardiff away, I think). Poor Des was back in South Africa within the week and Eastham was sacked soon after. Des Backos was Stoke's version of Ali Dia.

Nice. Theres only one Des Backos!
Surely Xausa must be up there though. Same scenario as Des but in a lower division!

Don't know how you can include Sidibe as a possibility after everything he's done for the club...Yes, admittedly, of late he has been not up to Premiership standard and has had many a wank game for us over the last 2 years...but I'd never consider him to be one of our worst ever strikers My vote is Lightbourne btw

Dave Bamber for me - but some firece competition: David Xhusa (played half a match nthen went to Scotland) keith Scott too was appalling - and by his own admission!

Just woke in a cold sweat after realising I hadn't put Graham Shaw on the list. OMG Keith Bertchin as well. We really have been blessed with goal scoring gods haven't we!!!!

Bangoura - at least the others put the effort in but just werent good enough.
In terms of lack of effectiveness - Ellis and Lightbourne were very disapointing.

Lethal Keith may have not started too well with 2 goals in 24 games in the holocaust season.
However, 27 league goals in 57 games for Stoke in what is now The Championship made him pretty much a "goal scoring god" from where I was standing.

Bannister was awful, Bamber a complete disaster and Pericard too, but surely no-one was worse than the pile of Manure that was Billy Whitehurst!
