His reaction was silly and petulant. The only thing he's achieved with it is to drive an even deeper wedge between the players and the over-critical supporters. So who wins from that situation? There are no winners. And I'm thinking that if he did that when he did, then he must have taken that attitude onto the pitch with him before the game, and because he's the captain, that attitude will also have rubbed off on other players. Not a good place to be methinks. He needs to sort his mind out. No supporters in the land have watched his back so well since the Ramsay incident as we Stoke fans have. Has he forgotten that? And as for Smudge's piece, it wasn't just about THAT incident. The general tone of the article was spot on. OS. So he planned the whole thing now No one has ever reacted instinctively with a very very minor gesture after a goal before ........ever! Come on mate. Don't resort to strawman arguments. He never said that.

Rob's blog and commentary are two of the few remaining reasons to come on The Oatcake. But having a quick look through this I can see why he wouldn't bother if he's got better things to do. You can also see why so many people just don't bother anymore.

Is this the ball boy who was slow giving the ball back to Burnley who feigned head injuries over and over again two years ago? What do you reckon to Charlie Adam kicking the ball out further down the pitch for Burnley who feigned head injuries over and over again two years ago? That would be them. Michael Keane bitchwhining in the Times about us being 'streetwise' for Charlie not giving them the ball back. Apparantly this lead directly to the second goal???? The second goal that Muniesa started on the edge of our area! As you so perceptively point out this is the same Burnley guilty of massive 'streetwise' gamesmanship by feigning head injuries over and over again two years ago. The same Burnley who refused to kick the ball out when Indi had a proper serious head injury caused by a criminal assault by one of their players. That Burnley. PS leave the ball boy alone. Needs speaking to? Behave. When I heard them complaining, all I could hear was the distant sound of the world's tiniest violin.

Have the last word if you like. I'm off. The last word is your posting history and the Boskamp Bang Bus and always will be! As for you David, you clearly don't know what either feral or ferret mean so if you think I'm going to believe you know what cognitive dissonance is, my confused right wing nutter friend, you're very much mistaken! My actions. My transparent hate. As I keep reminding you, I was asked directly by the club's CEO whether he should be sacked and said no. That's the only action you need to concern yourself with. My attitude has always been the same. Good manager. Absolute twat. So well done on getting it 50 percent correct but don't turn it on me when the facts prove you wrong on the other 50 percent. Your true feelings have been evident on here for well over a decade and remain as transparent today as they ever were. What do you think of CEO's asking fans whether they should sack managers or not? Some 'absolute twats' in the background of our club isn't there. Don't attract your ire much do they. I've never hidden them. And guess what? I've been right all along. And now I've got two sets of court documentation to support me, while you've got fuck all / cognitive dissonance. Have the last word if you like. I'm off.

Sure. Sure. I never once called for his head and have supported the club throughout. As I said before you're just floundering around because I've been right about him and you've only ever been half right. So while other people and managers are tawdry, pricks, cunts, arseholes and wankers for having an opinion, you don't give a shit that one manager is guilty of a major fraud. And if anybody points your hypocrisy out, you just start making stuff up. Shows where your loyalties lie. I can understand why you're ashamed of your previous actions, that makes perfect sense to anyone who read your decade long campaign of transparent hate that you tried (and failed) to mask as fair comment. Anyway I'm no cock blocker, you and your pals gather back around the biscuit and start enjoying yourselves again! My actions. My transparent hate. As I keep reminding you, I was asked directly by the club's CEO whether he should be sacked and said no. That's the only action you need to concern yourself with. I don't know who you mean but that doesn't mean anybody has 'championed' Scally. You don't have to take sides when two twats go to war with each other. You can see them both for what they are - twats. I just wonder what Pulis would have to do for you to criticise him. We know major fraud and lying to his employers isn't enough for you to raise an eyebrow. How about killing your mum? Or would that be OK because he managed to keep us in the Premier League? Convenient that you don't remember! Show me where I've defended him on this matter once, it just doesn't sully his time at Stoke one iota for me and it certainly doesn't justify the self congratulatory game of soggy biscuit you and the usual suspects have been indulging in on this thread. Your activities 2002-2013 remain what they have always been. Tawdry and anti Stoke. Sure. Sure. I never once called for his head and have supported the club throughout. As I said before you're just floundering around because I've been right about him and you've only ever been half right. Gonna provide any proof that Stoke fans have 'championed' Scally over Pulis for 14 years? Or simply admit you've made it up...... I can wait. I suppose the Stoke 'fan' who had the transcript of the Gillingham court case on his website when we hired Pulis is a good starting place. I don't know who you mean but that doesn't mean anybody has 'championed' Scally. You don't have to take sides when two twats go to war with each other. Gillingham and chairman Paul Scally fined £75,000 for ‘race victimisation’ • FA rule striker Mark McCammon was unfairly dismissed in 2011 • Club and Scally ‘shocked, stunned and angered’ and say they will appeal That Paul Scally? Think that's him. The one with wife in jail for drugs, the one who received a record fine for backing his own team to lose, the one who had to tear half his own ground down for planning irregularities. the one who banned the chairman of his own clubs supporter club and the local newspaper. The one who Stoke fans with no agenda at all have championed over Pulis for 14 years. Gonna provide any proof that Stoke fans have 'championed' Scally over Pulis for 14 years? No. What I disapprove of is a man who behaves like Tony Pulis has throughout his career. We were just lucky that Tony Pulis's interests coincided with Stoke City's for most of the time he was here (but not always). Look at what happens whenever Pulis decides that his interests lie elsewhere.

Well you'd better take it up with all the fans that were there that day including the editors of the Oatcake. Clue about the CEO - it wasn't Tony Scholes who, by the way, is an employee of the club who has been in charge during the one of the best periods in the club's history and gets dog's abuse from you and yet has never been shown up as a fraud and blackmailer in court. Admit it, you think Pulis is bigger than the club which is why you won't apply the same rules to him as you do everybody else. I bet you were outraged that Mourinho kicked a bottle of water and Tony Scholes ate some pizza but fraud is just MEH.

Anybody who's had dealings with a solicitor knows they wouldn’t advise a client to breach his contract, lie about the date of a meeting and use an imaginary property deal to defraud an employer. There's one man responsible for this. Anyone who's had dealings with solicitors knows that SOME would advise a client to do anything he wanted for enough of a fee. Yeah. And even in the unlikely scenario that a solicitor did advise a client to defraud his employer for £2 million rather than work an extra couple of weeks, thereby putting the solicitor's own reputation and career at risk, the client still has to agree to do it. The most likely scenario is that Pulis had another job lined up but didn't want to miss out on a bonus payment. Exactly the same as at Gillingham.

Can't really see how he could be done for fraud, he's been done for breach of contract. If I hit my targets at work and am contractually due a bonus on 31st December, provided I stay in employment till that date and then go into my employer before Xmas and ask him to pay the bonus early coz I need to buy the missus a present, if he agrees to pay it and I don't buy any present I don't think that's fraud, maybe devious but not fraud. However if I then hand in my notice before 31st December then I'm in breach of contract and not entitled to the bonus whether or not I bought her the new knicker set! Land issue is a red herring and can't see anyway he can be done for fraud. Duplicitous and devious yes but fraud, no. It's a civil case and there's a different burden of proof. Based on the court transcript it looks likely that he's committed a fraud but whether he might be prosecuted is up to the CPS. One thing we can say is that it's a bit more than devious.

True. I hear there's a youth coach out of work at the moment who could do a job for us once he's out of hospital. Straight out of the Eric Bristow school of social media conduct that comment youth! If we're dealing in proven facts (I know, a rarity on this messageboard and alien concept to some), then TP has been caught bang to rights by this latest judgement and can have absolutely zero complaints in now having to repay the money obtained fraudulently. His reputation in football forever tarnished, and only himself to blame. But the facts are also: There is no proof of any crooked / fraudulent activity during his time at Stoke (disagreeing with footballing methods doesn't count sadly!), he and Coates had a good working relationship (both TP and PC have gone on record stating that as fact), and it was clear to almost all that we parted company with him at the correct time for all concerned. To compare him to a convicted sexual predator who preyed upon young boys (however ironic you were being), just makes you look petty and bitter. We get it, you didn't like Pulis at Stoke, he did well for us, made you look a tit, move on. Except I haven't done that. I'm just highlighting how ridiculous it is to try to separate somebody's character from their ability to do a job. As I said before, any club that employs him needs to make sure the contract is watertight and they shouldn't trust him with anything involving money.

Short memories some of you. He did a fantastic job for us and went on to save Palace from certain relegation which would have cost them a fortune. Ah well I guess after 4 years away from us some just can't get him out of their head, Quite correct. He did a great job for us, no matter what his character. You'll go a long way to find saints in football. (Ian St John? ) True. I hear there's a youth coach out of work at the moment who could do a job for us once he's out of hospital.

I think I'd be pulling a sickie if I was a WBA player today , there's going to be some running and lots and los of hills ! For what it's worth I'll take my lead from the leaders Mr Coates clearly thinks in the round the relationship was mutually beneficial and is grateful for the efforts of TP , personally I could fall out with him every day but a bloke who drives through the night to manage our team on the day his mother died doesn't deserve some of the bile on here . its like a divorce the quicker you see the person for what you originally liked or respected the better for all parties don't let the acrimony of the end destroy the good things that went before . We don't know what the 'leaders' really think of Pulis. My guess would be that they viewed him as a good manager who couldn't be trusted as far as they could throw him. In fact I'm amazed that anybody could really see Pulis any other way. As for the thing about his mum, about as relevant as his charity bike ride. It's like those neighbours of Fred West telling the media that he helped them put up some shelves once. Never mind the bodies buried in the garden, look at the space I've got to keep my thimble collection. I hope West Brom have their contract terms with him sewn up very tightly and are keeping an eye on him.

Ah well I guess after 4 years away from us some just can't get him out of their head, The point you're missing is that he's a crook and a proven liar. He's proved it at all the clubs he's been to some extent or other and he may well end up being grateful that two of the cases he's been involved in didn't involve criminal charges for fraud and blackmail. Some of us have longer memories than you and also remember the way he tried to screw over Stoke City in his first stint in charge. He may have got results for us and he's obviously perfectly capable of doing that for most clubs, but it doesn't hide the fact that he's a crook.

wow i am genuinely surprise by the level of hatred on here for our former manager. i am not saying he is an angel but crystal palace and their chairmen have allways been odious little cunts.my only surprise is he aggreed to work their in the first place.when he went there palace where odds on for relegation so was surely due a hefty bonus for keeping them up.i do not understand why there is a date attached to the bonus[aug 31st] surely the bonus should have been due at the end of the season. i am really saddened by some of the words used to describe mr pulis on this mb. we have a lot to thank him for, people have short memories. i doubt we have heard the last of this case. Completely agree. It's sad the bitterness and jealousy that many have against one of the most successful managers in our history. I don't understand the clause either. It should have been at the end of the season or to keep them up for 2 seasons. Making him stay until the end of August if he really wanted to move would have been a hindrance to Palace. It's really very simple. He's a liar and a crook.

He must be incredibly thick to have done something so stupid having earned every penny of his £2m to keep CP in the Prem. Surely he could have told the club he planned to join he would not be able to do so until the end of August. He perhaps thought that he was "only" risking the net bonus of £900k, which he would have more than covered during the season with generous salary and bonus arrangements at his new club, with possibly a "golden hello" payment upon him joining. These payments might otherwise have been lost to him if his new employers were not prepared to wait until after the season had started. What he would not have anticipated was that he would have to cover the NI and PAYE (£1.1m), potentially irrecoverable by CP from HMRC, and £1.5m of damages in addition. Those unforeseen consequences have turned what would have been a bit of a blow of having to repay "just the £900k" into a complete disaster for him. I guess he is a very wealthy man but if he ends up with a bill of £5m including legal costs, that must make a very significant dent in his wealth. It's not the first time he's pulled stuff like this though. He obviously thought he could do it again and has been caught out this time. He was fortunate that the court case with Gillingham was resolved because that involved him blackmailing the chairman.

Am I reading this right that if he waited another 18 days then he'd have been entitled to the bonus with no recourse from CPFC? If that's correct he got some shocking advisors working for him! It's not his advisors. He's a crook
