Sounds like alot of folk would like to set up re-election boards like they used for bottom of the 4th division in the 60's and 70's, except for all divisions promotion /relegation. Whoever comes up does it matter if you hate them? Only thing that should bother you is if its a good day out there.

2900 legal supporters from Koln 17000 illegal turned up without tickets or with tickets from touts if we did this as British fans we would be heavily fined or banned by Europe what happens here Eufa say that they are looking at charging both clubs for breaches of safety. As I am no fan of arsenal I find that this may be a bit harsh on them and Koln should be hit with a massive fine and ban on away supporters for there other Europa league games. Since when has it been illegal for German citizens to travel to London? Since between 1939 and 1945!

Customs will have had a busy time with them all...though probably not, they let everybody through! On what grounds would Customs (actually immigration staff) stop them coming in? Has anyone stopped the Brits going to games in Germany recently? Did anyone stop Stokies going to Istanbul or Valencia when we were in the Europa League? Was a bleeding joke yer daft lad.

Was always partial to the Dairy Crunch myself. Anyone else remember these vending machines? Certainly remember the machines. Not sure I remember one that worked. That's railway station platforms for you. You got a lot of Curly Wurly for 3p as well. God I miss my teeth!😂 I remember the tv ads for some of those. "Its amazin' what raisins can do..." Also the Swisskit ad and Curly wurly (still available) with Terry Scott.

And he's getting hammered for it. Koln are apparently a left wing club and in the pic there are no nazi salutes! Is the Mirror still edited by Piers? Typical left wing antics shameful hope they don't lose they will be campaigning for a re run after throwing their dummy's out and vandalising and rioting of course. As long as they don't pull down Nelsons column or Churchill's statue!

I bet the French security services are overjoyed at the prospect of such a large, high-profile event being hosted in Paris. Thought that myself, I won't be in a hurry to go to Paris, LA might be fun if Trump hasn't destroyed USA or the world by then I suggest North Korea then, you'll prefer it there.

Motto does sound like a right git. I only remember in a nice way because that was the era I started my love of the game and Motd was one of only a few chances to see any tv football.

Does nobody remember Keith Macklin?😀 [br Macklin covered Yorkshire tv where I live and sucked up to Leeds who were on all the time due to it being their heyday era. He later did a religious programme on, as you would expect, a Sunday.

Brian Snore was so biased in favour of London clubs. And for a goal he always said " And it's in there". True he was but great when Stoke won away. Coleman was also very good. Who was the commentator that covered the East Anglia games? Was it Gerald Sinstadt - not sure if spelling As I mentioned earlier, Gerry Harrison was Anglia chap, Ipswich were the top team there at the time. Sinstadt was the Granada area which some in Stoke area could get as well as Midlands. Sinstadt later went on to cover cinema....in white stuff!

Sunday afternoons Itv coverage had the big cinema fan Sinstadt on Granada, the Leeds Utd creep Keith Macklin on Yorkshire, Huge Johns on Midlands, Moorey on London & south, oldy Wolstenholme on Tyne-Tees and the good commentator for East Anglia Gerry Harrison(?). Not sure who did west/south west.

Hugh Johns, Barry Davis and John Motson. Loved listening to them Hugh Johns ! Sunday afternoon soccer when Stoke were on ! Barry Davies was brilliant on Grandstands`s rare but welcome Ice Hockey Coverage Wasn't it the very good Alan Weeks who did the ice hockey? He also did FA cup round 3 when Motd had an extra game or 2 on.

What a bunch of crap. I'm a big motor racing fan, bought loads of clothing and merchandise with Marlboro, Rothmans on etc on and have never touched a fag in my life. Ditto gambling - I only ever bet on a game when there's a free bet with a newspaper. What next? Food and drink companies. Ban everything then. PC shite yet again. Good for you, you speak for your own experiences though
I too have bought things with Beer logo's, gambling etc etc and fortunately I am the same as you, however not everybody is. But you cannot deny that the negative publicity of tobacco advertising, banning of smoking in certain places etc has helped tone down cigarette smoking, which surely is for the greater good of all concerned.
A chap made a good point earlier, maybe not stop the advertising but ensure gambling companies do more to help those with addictions.........Do you not think that would be positive??
Difference in that smoking and too much alcohol affects health and your wealth. With gambling its mainly your pocket. Labour camp should concentrate on drug problems but most are high on the stuff.

I do actually think they should............Sorry to be controversial! My best friends sisters life was pretty much ruined by here husbands gambling addiction, her fella dropped £20 notes into machines like confetti. Re-Mortgaged the house, got out loans and basically got huge debts. They are now divorced and she is trying to re-build her life..........Pretty sad stuff but there is no doubt gambling is an addiction that can ruin families and can as destructive as drugs and booze if it gets hold of you What a bunch of crap.

Excellent news. Can anyone remember when commentators were just there to relay information about subs, extra time and just get excitable about goal threats / goals? When later on Tyne Tees, Kenneth Wolstenholme spoke even less than that. Just got the odd "great goal by Spraggon" (Middlesbrough) etc. I was a bit surprised after his fame from Wembley 66.

Motty retires from MOTD, will be missed, never showed any bias unlike some modern tv pundits. I actually preferred the craziness (at times) of "Look at his face, just look at HIS face" Barry Davies, flexible into other sports too, as also was the very good David Coleman.

They are utter cunts up here. attacking people while walking [like a scene from the birds]. nicking tour food if you sit outside the shops regularly culled too....some nights you can here them right through until morning. starlings are as bad in town Surely the starlings don't attack you? They're alot scarcer than about 30 years ago so leave them alone! I don't suppose the gulls are any more violent than anywhere else. The Blackpool area gets a bad name on here as it is!

Yes, there are plenty of anti Blackpool snobs around. The ones who don't like either a good piss up or a holiday with plenty to do for the kids. Bet its exciting sitting in a cottage in middle of countryside so they don't have to spend owt. Not the most attractive views like Scarborough, Whitby or North Wales but much more to do.

Call me old-fashioned l, but it really pisses me off when clubs get referred to as: West Bromwich Albion Preston North End Aston Villa Etc, And we get referred to as Stoke. It's Stoke City, so refer to us as that. Surely most folk refer to them as West Brom and Preston rather than adding the third bit on. Local people use the term City for Bradford in my area but Leeds don't use United. Also, Halifax town fans didn't even like calling themselves Halifax! - due to the same towns rugby league team, so it was "Shaymen". It's up to the fans really, but annoying that tv twerps think there's only 1 city and united.

Excellent ska track from late 60's and re-released about 1980. I remember hearing it at Leeds in mid 70's with John Marsh warming up prior to game. Just sticks in the memory. Also on introduction to their games on MOTD in the 70's. One of the better ones to come out to and different.

Radio 2 phone-in today with Jeremy Vile was about the OTT "grieving" that folk did en masse when Di died and how it made things worse for her 2 sons. It was sickening, the day of her funeral. No football and wall to wall coverage of the mourning. I had to watch the Cartoon channel all day.
