I haven't been to Blackpool (apart from a few work trips next to the airport) since about 1985, has it improved any since then?

Limited train service as well for the big switch on. Last train leaves before the lights get switched on.

Yer conner beat Blackpool for a day or weekend, its one of our national treasures, unless you are snobby of course Great for the darts in July or the loomies in the Autumn, and pink and white ice creams are to die for. Actually because I am a partial snob , we stop in St Annes and taxi in. One or two nice boutique hotels down there with help yerself bars. (cameras are on though). Vegas of the North

Yes, there are plenty of anti Blackpool snobs around. The ones who don't like either a good piss up or a holiday with plenty to do for the kids. Bet its exciting sitting in a cottage in middle of countryside so they don't have to spend owt. Not the most attractive views like Scarborough, Whitby or North Wales but much more to do.

The only thing good I can say about bp is the pleasure beach, town centre shopping and the most important fresh sea air (low pollen)
The rest of the seafront wants demolishing imo......full of cheap tat. B&M style
I'd go further and say quite a few visitors are what's bad about it......come here to get bladdered then spend the night making arses of themselves, ruining family fun for others
