Is he worse than Berahino ? I let you know when Berahino has actually fucking done something of use. And the idiot that (WAS - hopefully was) in charge insisted on bringing the waste of space to the club.

He said that in a Sky interview I saw this morning If he said it before it's almost worse given that he went on to neither play for stoke city or his manager. In truth, Shaqiri plays only for himself, normally when it suits him to do so Almost all players in the top flight are in it for themselves, no loyalty like years ago. I feel sorry for young un's who get attached to players who don't stay long. My lad had Arnie printed on back of shirt, also has Shaq and Jack and they may well be off too.

To quote the yank bloke on Fawlty towers - "what a bunch of crap!" They used to play on Christmas day AND boxing day when they weren't overpaid, overrated, overshite players. Other teams manage it. They used to play with leather balls and big boots Exactly, they didn't ponce about like nowadays. And as for "if we win Monday" - another bunch of crap. Playing another struggling team so it won't be anything to boast about, if we win. We have BIG problems. Mickmac you do talk crap!

What was Hughes supposed to do? One day rest between games in the Premier League? He had no choice. Newcastle is a six pointer. Should he have tried to get a noble away draw and lose to our real rivals? This is the new shiny Premier League and we as fans need to adjust to its reality. That’s all Mark Hughes did today To quote the yank bloke on Fawlty towers - "what a bunch of crap!" They used to play on Christmas day AND boxing day when they weren't overpaid, overrated, overshite players. Other teams manage it.

The team and management are making us fans look silly now and taking flak now so it's time to hit back. Our fans have a good reputation so let's start kicking off again and at least get some respect back. Pitch invasion would do nicely for starters.

There'd be more meat in those pies than the Stoke team cos they are just wet lettuces.

Charlie should have a dink from own half every time he gets the ball- it works at times! Demonstrations aimed at Coates to get shut of Hughes are needed now.

Though we've got depleted by injuries that excuse can't be used for other shambles previously. How can Hughes set such a negative team? Go now.

Nice one son of the great Gordon! Pass on our best wishes to your Dad. I think you'll find it's Daughter of the great Gordon, Woody, but never mind. I'm sure every single Stokie, without exception, is massively and humbly proud of this wonderful man, and of his commitment to our club. It is, indeed, a travesty that he doesn't have a knighthood - however, they gave one to Nick Clegg for god's sake, so perhaps he's better off without it! Anyway, Mr Banks, Sir, we all hope you have a wonderful birthday and that you inspire the lads to give us a most unlikely win this afternoon. Sorry Banksies girl!

Good title for post. Could be very apt regarding players for Stoke (or any team) if you added.. " a footballer". We'll start with Berra then add Wimmer and that's just from the present team!

Thank you for all your kind words and messages, I will, as I always do show them to dad and let him read them. We do spend an awful lot of time discussing Stoke and dad likes to hear and read what the fans are saying ...he knows the importance of the fans and what a difference It is to have their support. He says there was nothing that could compare to hearing the Boothen end roar ! Thanks again, hope you’ve all had a great Christmas and let’s make 2018 the noisiest ever at the Bet 365 . Nice one son of the great Gordon! Pass on our best wishes to your Dad.

The saying goes: best form of defence is attack and with such a weakened defence we need a few goals in the bank...against Chelsea!! Good luck lads.. we need it.

Hi Just heard an interview earlier this morning on 5 Live Sportsweek with Gordon Banks who is 80 next week. They were talking about the save from Pele in the 1970 World Cup and Pele had sent Gordon both a letter and a video message. The presenter said that the video message would be on the 5 Live website later. Also spoke about the move from Leicester to Stoke. Leicester had put Gordon up for sale in his prime at the age of 28 and Roger Hunt had told Gordon not to sign for anyone as Shankly was going to sign him for Liverpool. Gordon waited but didn't hear anything. Then Stoke came in for him and Gordon said he couldn't wait to get away from Leicester and play for someone that wanted him. It was rumoured that Liverpool thought that £50,000 was too much for a goalkeeper. How times have changed. What also came through was the clarity with which Gordon recalled the Pele save (as though it was yesterday) and his enthusiasm for the game and what a genuinely nice guy he is. Gordon Banks is the reason I support Stoke. He was my favourite player as a kid and although I'm not from Stoke, decided to support them because Gordon played for them. Anyway it was a great listen and well worth listening to once they put it on their site. Cheers GB Similar to Me, was my boyhood hero (still is) and I'm not from the area. He sent me a letter when I was in hospital as a kid. Happy 80th to the greatest goalkeeper.

Leave the lad alone for god sake. He is showing he has emotions and feelings. If he wasn't upset and showed no emotion then i would be concerned. Keep giving the players support. We need them to keep us up. We are supporting the players, it's the manager who's getting the stick and if the players can't understand why then they must have had their heads in the sand for the last 2 years. There's only so much support you can give some players though. And when they are playing shite they're gonna get some stick - so it's not just the manager who deserves it.

Round Metal Bins on wheels that the dustmen used to take. Milk with the tops pecked open because of the birds. Corona bottles that you could take back for cash. I'm only 26 TEST They never had wheels round here (Yorkshire). Bin men just heaved them onto their shoulder and they were often full of heavy ashes from fireplaces. Doddle of a job nowadays. Remember Tit trouble with bottle tops but not that many get milk delivered now and often in cartons.

When I worked in Sales, in a office about 10 years in a Hotel, near Watford, there were 14 people employed.. 11 girls, aged between 22 & 28 years of Age, the Female Manager and me, the Only Guy..aged 8 years older.. I got on well with all of them to the point, I was referred too as their works husband and we all went out for drinks..etc The things that I heard from the Girls that I worked with would make anyone Blush..I was just part of the team..but wow these ladies would talk about all sorts, and when they came to me, they would always put their arm around me and give me a Hug...I was like a Office Husband to them..to be fair I loved it..and I get on very well with all of them now, and I have attended their Weddings too. Report them to the police then!!

I know time moves on and we live in a digital age but I always fondly remember going to the newsagents in my early teens to get Shoot magazine weekly. It was around 2- 3 months old by the time it got out here but was always read from cover to cover. Match weekly came a little later and was aimed at younger readers but any football mags were eagerly snapped up. The 70s were when I developed my love for football....Aaah the memories... It's sad to see magazines gradually disappear but I guess now instead of waiting 2 days for results and longer for magazine pics of my favourites, I just get on the net and see highlights of the game 30 mins after it completes....😊 I used to love shoot couple of weeks before the start of the season they used to have that football league press out thing with each team in the shirt colour and as a kid Sunday morning grab the paper adjust your own table sheet Happy times half the youths on here wouldn't know what it was like to be able to see the league table for the week by teatime sat MOTD mag still do the league ladders but they've gone all modern and us Premier boys stick on easier with Velcro! Rest of divs still little tabs. My lad gets bored with them and not even bothered with it this season.

Suppose they classing it as abuse, pathetic. There will be loads of grown ups visiting their lawyers now to say they were targeted years ago. No fun in life now, can't have a laugh about jokes in case they offend someone and can't create a giggle with a tickle even. Worlds gone mad.

Why would anyone not want to support our troops. They do some horrible jobs in some awful places. The conflicts are not of their choosing. I don't want to not support our troops. I just object to the gradual erosion of the poppy symbol that has occurred in recent years. It started as a symbol of peace and a reminder to strive to avoid the horrors of all war, as well as to remember the war dead, regardless of their race or nationality. Nowadays some people seem to view it as a symbol of pride in the British military. Sadly there's been a concerted effort by far right groups to push this change in mindset as it feeds their hateful agenda. The original meaning is incredibly powerful and completely unpolitical. I want to keep it that way. Plenty of left wingers support our forces and the poppy appeal. Right wingers the world over support their own armed forces but not necessarily with a hateful agenda. That is tarring the poppy appeal to connect it.

As long as no attempts are made to co-opt the poppy symbol as an icon for "Support Our Troops". It's a symbol of peace and a reminder of the horrors of war, and to avoid them. Well the poppy money goes towards our troops who have been injured etc, it doesn't go towards peace. Most folk are happy to help our brave forces by purchasing them.

Well done Peter Coates. He gets a mention on the website of Backpass, retro football magazine, for helping to keep it going. Its looked iffy about continuing but at the start of 2018 will come out every 2 months. Next issue (no.57 I think) includes articles on Jackie Marsh and Mark Chamberlain. Look out for it - Bobby Charlton on the cover.
