I remember a few years ago when we used to pass that fucking ridiculous big flag round the poor twats who happened to be underneath it when a minutes silence started had no idea and carried on shouting and swearing and farting through the minutes silence. I know a few people whose arses are so dismal that they could probably fart 'The Last Post'.

I’m not having it that people deliberately make noise during it. Probably just unaware. Quite easy to forget after a few sherbets and a rushed shuffle to the ground I remember a few years ago when we used to pass that fucking ridiculous big flag round the poor twats who happened to be underneath it when a minutes silence started had no idea and carried on shouting and swearing and farting through the minutes silence. Then the disgusted from Dresden shushers started and made more noise all than the flag passers put together. A typical SCFC clusterfuck. "disgusted from Dresden" Made my titter that.. Furious from Fenton Horrified from Hanley Mad from Madeley

Just drop 12 UK military snipers on the pitch, if some cunt makes a noise.... headshot, justified. Let’s just hope they’re better at shooting than our forward line is 👍🏻🤣

I'm not sure anyone will knowingly spoil the Last Post and minute's silence tomorrow, I hope it goes of without any hitches but if not it won't be for malicious reasons. Sometimes when hundreds/thousands of people are still entering the stadium late on there's noise as people haven't cottoned on to the silence happening at that moment...... Get with the program, Poindexter. I've already wound myself up to the point of spittle-flecked fury about a hypothetical situation I've made up in my own head that probably won't happen. It what those brave soldiers would have wanted…..

The sad irony of those taking the piss who’ve never seen conflict are usually those who crow about any inane shit. If you’re going to take the piss out of the point of remembrance then you should at least consider the fact that our (and more importantly the sacrifice of those that the original purpose of the appeal was meant to support) struggles should not be the butt of jokes.
Do us a favour and just keep your mouths shut for the limited time we ask for some semblance of respect, afterwards you can continue your selfish tirade against the flavour of the month. But please don’t use a message board I enjoy using to deride my service because you find enjoyment in abusing the liberties that my colleagues have fought to keep.
In the current climate there have been efforts made to subvert an institution that has existed for decades all because it is seen as the cool new thing. We’ll let me say unequivocally that we were here before and will be here long after you decide to grow up and maybe get a job.
To deliberately dishonour the sacrifices made by me and my fellow servicemen and women is unacceptable. I didn’t hear any angst after my tours in Afghanistan and I think it is a disgraceful indictment of the new age of entitlement that is destroying everything that we stand for.
If you’re someone who find that offensive then I’d respectfully argue that you are the problem.

If you've served in the Military you will know that it is:-
1. Trumpeter plays 'Last Post'. 2. 1 (or 2) minutes silence. 3. Trumpeter plays 'Reveille'.
In Civvy street, it shows your respect by removing your head covering during this time.

Some of these people just live for themselves, without respect for others.

I’m not going to engage in any further than to say that I have hope and expectation that us Stoke fans will be respectful, my point was aimed at wider society, one that like it or not we are all part of.
I’ve been humbled to see the utmost respect given by Stoke fans for many years and it’s not my intention to suggest that we would be disrespectful, so I apologise if that was the perception.
I stand by my dismay at the inevitable shame that the entitled will unfortunately bring to us when all should be as silent as those, including my own friend RIP, will be.
I’m not trying to be contrite either, just simply exasperated by how what was a matter of respect has become the source of jokes. Count yourselves lucky you can be disrespectful as you’re able to be.

I absolutely do believe that. I’m not saying there won’t be clapping when there should be silence or the odd person making a noise as they come up into the stand not realising the exact time but I don’t see anyone purposely mocking the memory of those who perished in conflicts over the years…..

People getting wasted in the concourse, doing coke etc and singing and being raucous with their mates. They leave at the last minute and carry on the singing and shouting up the steps into the stand and make loads of noise and don't realise what's going on till they look out and notice everyone else is being silent.

Unfortunately, those serving in the forces and those who have served who will be at the game will have to bite their tongues at the ignorance of those who don't understand the poignancy of the moment. And thank you, and others, for serving. OS.

Now it’s like a fucking circus every year.

At the start of tonights game at Watford at the end of the Last Post the crowd then applauded no minutes silence. The tannoy person was trying prior to to get the the format message across.
I find the both the Rememberance and Lost Stoke friends memorials the most moving moments of the season as they both have meaning in the real world.

It’s supposed to be a time of reflection, take a minute to stop and think about those we have loved and lost, those that gave their life’s so we can enjoy a Saturday. It’s not a celebration of someone’s life. Which is when I think a minutes applause is slightly more appropriate (I know they can’t hear it either)

Are people that thick or that ignorant that they can’t remember something that happens year on year 🤷♂️

As usual, 99.9% of supporters will show their appreciation and admiration for those who have fought and died for the country. Don’t let a few that might not, probably inadvertently, get in the way of that. It’s always a poignant moment.

And there are plenty of times and places that people can pay their respect with a minutes silence. Just think that in these times a football match would be better served with applause. My opinion.
