I never said they disrespect it on purpose. I don’t think anybody does but it doesn’t take much to just do as instructed does it. Considering the same thing happens EVERY FUCKING YEAR. It’s like people being surprised when there’s international breaks, despite them being the same weekends every year😂. I get your point mate and I admit it affects me because I’ve lost a good friend in action, so I’m perhaps being affected by that, but I can wage a fair bit that there will, out of 20,000+ that a few at least will be that way inclined. I hope not and again I am admittedly conflating the general population with our fan base which isn’t right but it isn’t impossible but hopefully not likely. Any disruption will either be inadvertent or ignorant as it usually is. There may of course be quite a few in the crowd with a pro Palestinian leaning but that is their democratic right and it is what your and my friends (and relatives in past wars) died for. The freedom of independant thought. As long as they keep it to themselves tomorrow then it's not a problem. I would hope any disruption would be swiftly dealt with. It will if it's near me that's a certain fact. |

The sad irony of those taking the piss who’ve never seen conflict are usually those who crow about any inane shit. If you’re going to take the piss out of the point of remembrance then you should at least consider the fact that our (and more importantly the sacrifice of those that the original purpose of the appeal was meant to support) struggles should not be the butt of jokes. Do us a favour and just keep your mouths shut for the limited time we ask for some semblance of respect, afterwards you can continue your selfish tirade against the flavour of the month. But please don’t use a message board I enjoy using to deride my service because you find enjoyment in abusing the liberties that my colleagues have fought to keep. In the current climate there have been efforts made to subvert an institution that has existed for decades all because it is seen as the cool new thing. We’ll let me say unequivocally that we were here before and will be here long after you decide to grow up and maybe get a job. To deliberately dishonour the sacrifices made by me and my fellow servicemen and women is unacceptable. I didn’t hear any angst after my tours in Afghanistan and I think it is a disgraceful indictment of the new age of entitlement that is destroying everything that we stand for. If you’re someone who find that offensive then I’d respectfully argue that you are the problem. This is why the country needs some form of National Service to be restored. Some of these people just live for themselves, without respect for others. I don’t disagree as such, I follow your working outs. I have to ask though, did you do national service? |

It’s almost like British forces have died there in the past and the whole thing is about being anti war as much as anything. You can think about anything during that minutes silence. It’s a beautiful thing about this country. That people are actually whining about what people may or may not think in that time is fucking pathetic. I used to always wear a poppy but now we have wankers who try to how to respect people and what’s right and wrong and have made it contentious. You see less people wearing them as it becomes more weaponised and it’s really sad what it’s become I think. But also I said you are a bastion of free speech and as such they have a right to protest any time they want. You can’t have it both ways. And let’s be very clear here, this was a protest that is set for Birmingham on the 11th that I couldn’t give a shit about either way bar thinking it’s a bit fucking daft of them to do it then.
