It was a terrible accident but I still maintain that bendtner was more to blame than Shawcross. Rewatch it if you don’t believe me. Shawcross would’ve made a clean tackle but it was bendtner petulantly hacking at him that slowed him down and induced the mistiming of the tackle.

There is pictorial evidence that Shawcross did not break the calcium deficient ones leg. Why is this never brought up in these conversations. I will never understand why Stoke chose not to use this to protect their own players reputation.

To play devil’s advocate; maybe if Ramsay never suffers that injury he goes on to even greater heights? It is a brutal time to suffer such a horror injury and must’ve negatively impacted his development.

Disappointing that Jamie Carragher didn’t comment from a defenders point of view
Along with many playing a defensive role, he will have mistimed many tackles, injuries will have happened as a result, some more serious than others

Fair enough mate, but that was sort of my point. He was never gonna leave Arsenal for a rival so he was limited in the premier league and I don’t think he was ever (pre-injury) good enough to play for the top Spanish clubs. He still managed a league title (I think) with juventus. You’re right though, horrible age to suffer an injury like that.
