You do know that Carsley has no connection at all with Ireland?? He played for them and his Nan is from Cork. Oh, you mean THAT Lee Carsley! He’s a Birmingham lad and 100% English. This gran connection holds no water at all for me. Remember Townsend and Cascarini taking advantage of this footballing mercenaries loophole. Funnily enough my grandma Flynn is also from County Cork and I’ve never had the slightest desire to play for the Republic.

Cascarino had an Irish Nan but she was adopted or something so he didn't really qualify. The rest have had at least a grand parent so qualified that way. The rules allow it. And I guess the Irish like to exploit it given their relatively small population. I guess there are a lot of us with Irish connections in England. My parents are both Irish so if I'd been good enough I'd have been tempted to play for Ireland if not good enough to make the England set up. Think rugby has gone a step further and allow players who have lived there and played pro rugby for 2 or so years to qualify for the national team. Not really got an opinion on it to be honest.

My problem here is he now wants to be regarded as English his place of birth and where he lived but shows no respect for his country by not singing the national Anthom because he once played for Ireland and they believe in a united Ireland so he's making a political statement by not singing so again should be knowwhere near the England team

Just out of interest I researched my family tree and found 4 out of 16 of my great great grandparents were born in Ireland..Which probably makes my 25% Irish ..
How many of you know where your great great grand parents were born.. It's a interesting hobby to do when you get older and have the spare time..Got back to 1500s and 1600s.

Flag waving, Brexit voting, Daily Mail reading, immigrant harassing, royal family bumming idiots made it an issue. Most people couldn't give a shit.

‘Woke’. Like you even know what it means. This bullshit and the papers that serve it up, gave us a 4% reduction in GDP and the highest immigration figures ever recorded…. And I’m the idiot? Ok mate 😁 🤣🤣🤣 One of the fastest growing economies in the old EU ? High illegal immigration because the Labour clowns kept blocking legislation to get rid of em. Oh, and I'm not your mate. Christ, you’ve swallowed the Tory playbook haven’t you. ? Guess whose economy fell the furthest? Do you understand that statistics can be used to make a small portion of a small amount look proportionally great? What legislation are you referring to? Would that be similar to the kind of Eu legislation ignorant people like you wanted to get rid of but couldn’t name a single Example of? Damn straight you’re not my mate, you’re a right winger without a clue.

Shame he's got the England job because I'd have gone for Carsley, I said the same before we got Schumacher.
