You doubters and mockers should hang your head in shame, he was outstanding today and will be for the majority of this season and (hopefully) beyond. Top class Viktor, keep it up matey-cock!! He made saves you would expect him to have made bar the first save where his positioning was excellent. Had he not saved any of the rest you would have been disappointed. Imho he will be a rollercoaster . A few dodgy games but overall fine . Not a top keeper though .By that I mean premier league - no

Good save to keep it 0-0 when one of their players (Whittaker?) hit a shot from their right that looked goal bound.
Really like him, good to have a solid number one. Seems a bit of a nutter as well which good keepers often are.

Are you seriously expecting us to sign a “top” keeper? Or a top anything for that matter? We signed a top keeper. He’s a top championship keeper.

Cards on the table: I've only seen Victor on the highlights so far, but he's got three clean sheets in five games now!
Furthermore, from the comments on the message board about the Watford game, where he let in 3 goals, I was expecting to see three howlers when I watched the highlights...
..but that's not what I saw at all.
Indeed for the first goal they scored, he made a really good low-down save, but unfortunately they had a free man handy, who tapped in the rebound.
By comparison, Manhoef hit exactly the same shot today, and their keeper didn't lay a hand on it. Also for his very similar goal that made it five nil against Middlesbrough, again their keeper couldn't even get a glove on it.

He saw it late as it came through a player and made a damn good save. And was actually unlucky it didn’t stick a bit more to him.

Yes - short. I don’t know why we can’t just fucking state things plainly any more. VIKTOR JOHANSSON IS SHORT FOR A GOALKEEPER. Maybe you don’t think it’s a problem, maybe you do. But it’s a fucking fact.

He's fucking ace.
Imagine Bursik or Bonham flapping around at some of those?
Johannsson is the real deal- a proper fucking goalkeeper for the first time in 7 years.

Personally I prefer a Sorensen/Schmeichel type keeper to a muggleton/Grobelaar/Pickford type keeper. I am sure he can be a cult hero. I just want a safe pair of hands for a keeper. H

It’s a bit too early to pass judgement either way on him at this point. He’s had a some good games and some poorer ones (Watford arguably). Time will tell of course, personally think he’s a very good shot stopper, especially when we are under pressure in games, not sure how he’ll perform in a side that’s on top and he may be a bystander for long periods but then has to pull of big save to on the break etc. Seen a few keepers over the years that look quality in poorer teams when they are busy, get a big move, and then they’re shite. Hopefully I’m wrong but have a feeling he may be one of those types

He has had two very good games in succession now at least! Don't forget we were unsure about both Travers and Iversen after their first games for us, but they both showed their quality after some games.

Kept us in it with fine saves yesterday and at Boro. But more importantly he has a one man mental when we score. Super Johannson in goal 😁

He seems to be a pretty good shot stopper. I wish he'd come out for corners and look more confident about hard low crosses. I'd prefer him to all those vintage post Butland, except possibly Travers.

He is a top keeper in this league, as we have seen so far a great shot stopper with wonderful reflexes.
He will only get better in his control of the box and relationship with the defence as things settle down. He's played behind 6 CBs since his arrival (7 if you include Burger's 10 minute spell), and now has the chance to develop an understanding over the coming months with the 3 most likely to play most minutes.
I have no concerns about him ensuring a few more wins over the season with other great displays like the one we saw yesterday.

I like him but he has his own unique style.
Doesn’t do conventional. Seems to make his saves frequently with some weird contortion shit. Like proper Matrix.
I like it. I think.

Seems a bit of a nutter as well which good keepers often are. Like most “nutty” keepers, he is an excellent shot stopper and will gain us a few points, but he is not a keeper who commands his area, that will possibly cost us a few points. Overall I think he will good for the team, glad we signed him. Reminds me a bit of grobbelar.

Another thing that cannot be underestimated is that he seems a bloody good bloke, someone who gets what a team means to its supporters, who knows how lucky he is to do what he is doing, works hard and tries his heart out.
He is an easy man to get behind.

I'm sorry but I'm holding to the view that his instinct is not to come for crosses from the byline, especially corners. Maybe he's been told to leave them for defenders in a crowded penalty area, but that's what I'm seeing. I wanted him here and I'm glad he is, but I suppose I'd like an imposing presence in those situations. He is in every other.

Trouble is Stokes defenders over these past few seasons don't seem to jump for the balls coming into the box from corners & free kicks.
