Decent as an attacking option.... but let's not kid ourselves....he is to defending... what stevie wonder is to a lookout....he used to lose possession.... and literally stand and watch the opposition attack.....

Good luck to him....he might look head and shoulders above everyone else in a really good side ( let's be honest... we weren't)..
But the other side of that is... really good sides have really good players.... and just standing watching when you lose possession won't be tolerated...... have to say I'm suprised at it being Sheffield utd..... they will be in the mix for promotion.... but I don't see them as the side the rest of the league will be chasing.

He gets a lot of love on this board. At the game I always hear people shouting how shit he is.

He's OK overall. Makes a lot of defensive errors and gives the ball away when it's a simple pass.

He balances it out by being good going forward and chipping in with a goal or decent cross here and there.

Had a good relationship with Manhoef developing which I feel would have led to plenty of success down the right hand side.

I'd have probably had him back to keep consistency in the squad but it's not the end of the world. Much easier to find a right back than a left back at least.

We have 2 and a makeshift one, who is a bit shit but still...

Tchamadeu is a perfectly good right back with plenty of physicality. If our attacking options provide more then you don't have to rely on a defender to be the main attacking threat.

Strange one as my impression of Wilder teams is that they defend deep and play a lot of long passes forward which sort of negates Hoever's strengths. Also wasn't Wilder a fullback himself which tends to suggest that he rates Hoever's defensive qualities higher than some on here. I can't honestly see it working but probably because I thought he was a great fit for a Schumacher team. I'm sad he's not coming back. He was far more passionate than a lot of our players.
