Don't understand some thinking on here....

For years people have been saying we should pick up young players from the lower leagues, improve them, improve our team with young hungry players and if necessary sell them for big profit..

We go out and do that with the purchase of junior..

Now people don't want to play and develop junior who is our own player but want to go out and fill his position with a loan player..

Long season as need cover in all positions. Junior will get games either way but far from the finished article . Would rather Hoever any day personally as a regular

Plenty of time for Junior. It’s a very long season . Gooch is not really cover . Hoever is only 22 as well and can improve Junior . Gooch unlikely too other than teaching him a step over at speed which we haven’t had since Arnie . Junior is very raw. An athlete but not ready yet imho

Can someone explain to me how Hoever defends well when played as centre back, but not so when playing fullback?!

Would love him to sign for us, could help give Junior more time to develop too.

Prob because he has to cover more ground with having more jobs to do

My guess is just that there’s more restrictions and less things to do. He has to move less so has less chance of being out of position. It is a funny one though!

Just like how I think he’s been pretty ineffective going forward as a right wing back in a back 5 compared to in a back 4.

You’d automatically assume a right wing back role with 3 centre halves behind him would suit him down to the ground but he just struggles even more.

They are not a 'bigger club' at all beyond the last couple of years of success

Of course people want junior to develop here and get plenty of games, but he's definitely not ready to be a number one right back yet. He needs a fully uninterrupted season of being an understudy.

Gooch is just a wide player who can cover RB, I personally don't want him being the only other RB in the squad.

One of their supposed ITK reckons it won’t happen at all now.. maybe they have been able to get hold of a better option that wasn’t previously available, similarly to us and Sarkic (RIP)

May be here is easier for him more familiar , shorter distance etc if it’s an option time will tell but I’d take him in a heart beat and spend the leris money on him if possible

They’re not even the biggest club in their city!
