Lots of clubs are sniffing around apparently. We have to keep him here. I agree 100%, sometimes you just need to pay the money... am sure there is room for some negotiations and add ons, and we can spread the costs with a decent length contract he's 21, not sure i follow that narrative that he's only proved himself in 1 game, half the Championship were after him in the summer and he's already proved he can bag goals in the Championship 8 goals in 21 apps for PNE, is 15+ a season form. If we lose him and Gallagher is still out or injury prone in January we are absolutely foooked...do we recall Mmaee (for all the good it would do) we'll get nothing of note from Tezgel or Ennis, we certainly aren't replacing Cannon for under 10 Million in the January window. In January window We need Cannon signed with obligation to buy in summer and a loan for a young wildcard Gallagher-esque understudy + ideally a left back and right back on loan Buying him would be like all in on black. A massive gamble and if it fails, little to spend in the next couple of years. As of yet I haven’t seen anything that would suggest he would be the best option to bet the club on

Its pretty simple circling in nthe bottom 6 and playing dor survival in January and hes off no matter what we can oir cnt do financially. Its why Gallagher injury is such awful timing as you can the anything but the bottom 6 without him for weeks on end. You have no idea if he's off or not Agree but he’s not signing permanently in January for us , if he or Leicester or both want a permanent move it will have to be elsewhere

It doesn't matter if we can afford him or not, he wouldn't stay here if Sheffield United were sniffing, could even see the logic in West Brom over us. Much more chance of going up at both.

I can't see how four goals in one match will have changed much until he converts that into four goals in six matches showing consistency. Presumably neither WBA or Sheffield Utd were prepared to take the risk in August of even a loan to buy. Much depends on his and Stoke's form from now till January. And if he plays himself back into form and Stoke are doing well would he risk a permanent move in January which may end up being like his move to Leicester. If I was Pelach he would have been in my office this week, telling me what his feelings are and if Cannon indicates he does not want to stay here past January he would be told that he will not be getting any patience or special treatment from the coaching team and will only get picked on merit and effort.
Perhaps come January we can even recall a much improved, confident Lowe.

( I think this board has already judged Junior )

Definitely need a right back though.

The thing is 4 goals in a game grabs the attention from journalists who then start digging and have a story already made for them. Let's remember there were other teams interested in him apparently and that was recent, so it would be weird if they were suddenly not interested. I think its a bit of a non-story in many ways, but we shouldn't be surprised that there are teams sniffing around because 4-5 weeks doesn't change that much, 4 goals or no 4 goals.
