Alan Nixon
Leicester City striker Tom Cannon will be in a three-club race if Steve Cooper fires the gun for an auction.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is keen on Cannon after losing Oli McBurnie but he faces a mighty tussle for the new Republic of Ireland cap.
West Brom and Stoke City are also battling for Cannon’s signature on loan as they all wait on a decision from the Foxes.
Baggies are keen on the hit man who hardly figured for Leicester after they bought him from Preston a year ago.
But the Potters are major rivals and may even get closest to the deal if they can offer Leicester a larger chunk of his wages.
Cannon wants to play so that is also a factor and Blades will have to convince him that he starts.

In both of Nixon's articles, there seems to be definite hints that we're well positioned and Cannon's definitely up for it - with the promise of actually being the main play-every-game man here, but covering a big enough chunk of his Leicester wages is the problem.
With Kieffer Moore there, may not always be the case at Sheff Utd as they don't always play 2 up front.
We must have a chance with the Huth loan manager link and the links Schumacher and Walters will have with the people who coached him for a decade at Everton?

Only 3 clubs in for him, shocked at that
Can we offer him more game time than Sheffield United? Definitely Can we offer more money than Albion? Looks like it
Is this looking like good news?

His wages and Leicester loan fee must be pretty pricy for only 3 clubs in for him
If we've offered £800k for Gallagher presume the Cannon loan fee is similar?

Wouldn’t be bad if we signed him as well as Gallagher( not that I’m remotely excited by him) at least we’d own a CF of our own.

Is this lad a wide forward or a more traditional centre forward?

Huth there watching us yesterday to sort out a deal? He still lives in the Wilmslow/Alderley Edge area so probably just catching up with Walters and taking in the game.

Type of player is he? Main attributes? Pacey? Off the shoulder of the last defender type? Target man? Link up play? Running the channels? Aerial ability? Work rate? Fox in the box? FullerMagic - do your thing.

What's the latest on his injury? He had quite a bad back injury which delayed his signing for Leicester didn't it?
Do we know what minutes he's played since and whether he's had any further breakdowns with it? Was it a similar injury to Wilmot (stress fracture) or something more serious like a disc injury like Shawcross?

Quite varied which is good. I was worried after the first two as we just don’t play the ball forward that accurately.

So you’re just saying that’s what he had?

Just a thought, Leicester still owe us 2 years worth of the Soutar transfer. So could we use the money they owe us to sway any move for their players?
